Before you say anything, I have to say that this is the barest minimum we could write about it. So that we could fool it. This record will stay on the database, and it won't notice at all.
Since Scranton Anchors won't work on it, tricking it is the only other way.
What is this 'it', exactly?
Well, like what the file says, it's a reality bender, and I would admit that it cannot be fully explained.
The partial reason for this is because of how, um, 'Unknown' it is, but the main reason, I feel, is because the anomaly itself is affecting the information about it that can be delivered to researchers like you.

I think I do know one reason though: we researched too much into it.
As we've painfully discovered, any trace of evidence relating to the Alterer case is forcibly modified or removed, regardless of whether it was online or printed. It will be modified to something that will cause any persons to read it to know that it doesn't exist and that all the disappearances are just that: disappearances.
That's why we cannot say too much about it.
And as we've also noticed, it's also been targeting us, most likely for that same reason.
I don't think it wants people to know about it. That might be a basic assumption, but it is the truth.
