Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 has been successfully removed from all major search engines, and monthly checks on computer systems are to be made to ensure that only Foundation personnel are able to access it.

SCP-5000 and SCP-5000-1 observations and tests are currently handled by researchers assigned to the Foundation Dream Analysis Division. All SCP-5000 tests and interactions with SCP-5000-2 are to be handled only by D-Class personnel who have scored at least an 8.0 on the Martens-Weaver Test¹.

Description: SCP-5000 is a blank webpage with the URL poolfisherman.███ belonging to IP Address 40.██.██.████. Its creator and purpose remain unknown to the Foundation.

SCP-5000 is currently classified as a Class II nyctohazard, as its effects manifest themselves only when the subject who accessed it is asleep. Once the subject is dreaming, SCP-5000 will modify their dream landscape to that of a swimming hall (SCP-5000-1) estimated to be around 2000 square feet in size. The subject will be placed in a location close to a swimming pool office and in close proximity to SCP-5000-2.

SCP-5000-2 is a featureless man commonly found sitting by the edge of the swimming pool and holding a fishing rod in the modified dream. Subjects are able to interact freely with SCP-5000-2, but several details about it, including its identity, motivation and purpose are unknown. While SCP-5000-2 does not appear to be an immediate threat to the subjects, personnel who interact with him are to maintain their professionalism when interacting with it.

Subjects who have experienced the dream induced by SCP-5000 claim that they are only able to access a small area of about 100 to 200 square feet of the dream, and that they are able to dive into the pool, but will immediately awaken after approximately 1 to 2 seconds in it.

Summary:

Due to the large physical limitations of SCP-5000-1, the exploration is only relegated to the exploration of the swimming pool office found near SCP-5000-2.

A quick search of the swimming pool office has resulted in the retrieval and discovery of several items, including but not limited to:

• A Remington Model 870, no bullets
• 3 standard model fishing rods
• A standard lab coat, bears similarity to Foundation standard-issue lab coats, only visible letter on name tag is 'I'
• A sheaf of papers on anomalies, writing matches the format of a normal Foundation report, several reports describe anomalies that do not exist or that have not been contained by the Foundation

On account of the items only existing in the dream induced by SCP-5000, none of these items have been brought back, and currently still remain in SCP-5000-1.

Conversation 1:

D-546: Who are you? What's your name?

5000-2: I don't really know who I am, but you can call me the Fisherman. That's what I call myself after all.

D-546: Can you tell me more about yourself? Why are you here? How do you exist in this space?

5000-2: I can't help you with that. As far as I'm concerned, I have been here longer than I remember.

D-546: So, you can't remember anything that led you here?

5000-2: Essentially so. It's hard to explain. It's like there's a gate locking my memories up, preventing me from finding out.

D-546: Maybe you've been in an accident.

5000-2: Perhaps. That's the simplest solution. Unfortunately, there are other solutions too. Maybe I purposely chose to forget. Maybe there really is nothing, and that I'm just something that believes that there is more to me than somebody fishing in a pool.

D-546: What solution do you think is the right one?

5000-2: The latter.

D-546: Why? Don't you want to try and figure out who you are?

5000-2: (laughs) Trust me, sometimes it's better if I don't. That means I don't conform to anything. That means I don't need to spend time trying to figure out who I am. It's more peaceful that way.

Conversation 2:

D-847: It's great that I can get to talk to you.

5000-2: Anytime. After all, I don't have anything to do here. Apart from fishing.

D-847: I have to ask though, why are you fishing? Why don't you try to find a way out?

5000-2: I fish because that's the only thing I can do here. There's no way out, apart from the pool, but I wouldn't go in there. I'm not desperate enough.

D-847: Why not? What's in there?

5000-2: I call them specimens. You can't see them clearly, but they're in there, and they will kill you if you go in there. They're pretty smart, so I don't think I can catch them anytime soon.

D-847: If you do catch them, what would you do?

5000-2: I'll kill them. For the difficult ones, I'll use the Remington. After that, nothing else.

D-847: What do you do with their bodies then?

5000-2: I don't do anything. They'll eventually disappear over time.

D-847: How many of them are in the pool.

5000-2: Not sure. They could be all gone, but I won't take my chances with those fuckers.
