SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Item Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a small glass box, inside of a containment locker, in the Safe wing of Site-██. Should testing with SCP-XXXX be authorized, it is to be removed from its glass case only once it is at the desired testing location. For ethical reasons, any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be terminated once they are no longer needed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a red whiteboard marker, approximately 17 cm in length, with a white body and a red cap. It does not possess any markings or indications of brand. SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties only truly manifest once held by a human, however, subjects that have not been warned about SCP-XXXX's effects will show curiosity towards it.

Once held for approximately 30 seconds, the subject holding SCP-XXXX will begin experiencing changes in behavior and body composition, and begin to write with SCP-XXXX wherever possible. This includes paper, whiteboards, walls, other people, or even the subject's own body. If nothing is done, subjects affected by SCP-XXXX (henceforth referred to as instances of SCP-XXXX-1) will continue writing, neglecting everything else, including their own wellbeing, and eventually die. After becoming an SCP-XXXX-1 instance, subjects' blood will begin to turn into red ink, the same kind present within SCP-XXXX. This, however, does not appear to cause subjects to die, implying that instances of SCP-XXXX-1 do not require the same bodily functions as regular humans. They do, however, still require the ingestion of water to survive (See Addendum XXXX.1). This same ink has been spotted leaking out of SCP-XXXX-1's orifices, such as their eyes, mouth, ears, or nose.

The content of SCP-XXXX-1's writing will vary from instance to instance, usually detailing ideas, memories, or stories present in that specific instance's mind. Should SCP-XXXX-1 run out of material to write, they will simply resort to writing the phrase "I must write"1 repeatedly.

Despite its use having far exceeded the average lifetime of regular markers, SCP-XXXX continues to possess bright, new red ink, implying it has an endless supply of this ink within it, or is able to create it spontaneously at will. An analysis performed on SCP-XXXX's ink has shown to be regular ink, with no anomalous properties whatsoever.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will become highly aggressive if any attempt is made to separate them from SCP-XXXX.
