Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5118 is to be contained in a blastproof, keycard locked high-security locker at Site-01. Only personnel approved by Site-01 command may come in direct contact or utilize SCP-5118. The object should be guarded at all times by at least 5 Level 4 Clearance Guards.
Description: SCP-5118 is a laptop computer, resembling an Apple PowerBook G3 manufactured in the late 1990's. However the computer's internal and extrenal components are very different from non-anomalous computers:
- The charger port is filled with solid nickel
- The CPU has no markings on it, and contains a 1x1x1 cm3 cube of nervous tissue. DNA corresponds to no known living or extinct organism. The CPU operates at a frequency of ███ █Hz
- Electric wiring made of 35,6 μm thick myelin-coated copper-silver alloy wire.
- Infrared transmitter containing a liquid with various neurotransmitters dissolved in it, connected to a small gelatinous mass of unknown composition.
- Battery containing 79,7 grams of Adenosine-triphosphate. The battery has an infinite lifespan.
SCP-5118 has the ability to control all biological function of every living human in an infinite radius. However, the object cannot cause non-anomalous restructuring (eg. muscle mass increase), but can bring anomalous changes to a subjects bodily structure (eg. Trasmutation into SCP-2845-1 instances). This feature can be accessed using the installed program named "biocontrol.exe". "biocontrol.exe" cannot be copied or deleted.
Biocontrol.exe's GUI has 2 text boxes. The upper textbox is titled "Subject". The lower textbox is titled "Effect".
When a human's name or other designation is typed into he upper textbox, the program will show a list of images of people's faces with that name in order of distance from SCP-5118. When the operator of SCP-5118 clicks on an image, the person becomes the subject of SCP-5118's anomalous effects.
Anything typed into the second textbox will be applied to the victim. The operator of SCP-5118 and SCP-5118-A are immune to the anomaly's effects.
SCP-5118 doesn't require precise commands, as it is able to decipher english language, althrough sentience tests came back negative.
Other than this, SCP-5118 works like a normal computer, althrough it is much faster than it's non-anomalous counterparts.
Discovery: SCP-5118 was discovered on 11/02/2019 in the home of [REDACTED] (now designated PoI-5118), a vintage computer collector located in Essen, Germany, after reports of unusual illnesses and deaths among residents in the area.
These reports included:
- A 25 year old man suddenly acquired Hyper-IgM syndrome, without any prior genetic defects.
- A 41 year old woman reported having recurrent cutaneous fungal infections. Further analysis found her T-cells to be unresponsive to cytokines that induce Th17 differentiation, despite normal expression of cytokine receptors and signaling molecules.
- A 33 year old man found dead with Tumor Necrosis Factor levels more than 15000x the normal amount in his blood.
MTF μ-4 ("Debuggers") recovered the object without incident.

PoI-5118: Good Morning, Agent.
Blau: When did you acquire the object and how?
PoI-5118: You see, I am an amateur computer collector, and found a good deal for a computer I have wanted for a long time. I bought it in late August of this year.
Blau: Were you aware of the anomalous program found on the computer?
PoI-5118: I found a program named "biocontrol.exe*. I thought the previous owner just forgot to wipe the hard drive, but naturally, I checked it out first.
Blau: What was your reaction to the program?
PoI-5118: I saw two textboxes and a "help" icon in the top right corner. I clicked on that first, and thought, "Cool". I wrote my name in the "Subject" textbox.
Blau: Did you specify an effect as well?
PoI-5118: Yes, I wrote "pain in right hand", and clicked "OK". Nothing happened, so I thought that someone was just testing their coding skills.
Blau: Did you write in other people's names as well?
PoI-5118: Yes, they were ██████ ████, █████ █████, and ██████ █████████.
Blau: Did you consider the consequences of your actions?
PoI-5118 shows signs of distress.
PoI-5118: I just thought it was some sort of joke or something.
Blau: The changes observed in the affected persons were very complex, not something that could be caused by an amateur, like inability to induce Th17 cells. These require in-depth knowledge about the human body. Do you have any medical training?
PoI-5118: No, I just learn science for fun.
Blau: Did you know about the effects of biocontrol.exe?
PoI-5118: Again, no, I did not know anything?
Blau: Mr. [REDACTED], you have immunity to SCP-5118's effects.
PoI-5118: Well, how in the living hell should I have known that?

Closing Statement: Interview terminated after subject attempted to harm Agent Blau. It was decided, that PoI-5118 should not be punished, as he was ignorant of the effects of the object. Subject administered Class A amnestics and given a non-anomalous PowerBook G3.
Letter from Researcher ██████ to O5-3
Dear O5-3,
After 4 months of research, we have collected a large amount of data on SCP-5118. The object is capable of inducing changes in organisms down to the molecular level. It is extremely precise and does exactly what isintended. However, the object has no effect on sentient, but non-living anomalies, like SCP-173, or humans with anomalous capabilities.
My proposal is, that SCP-5118 could be used as a remote weapon against hostile Groupsof Interest, as a kind of covert assasination tool against their key personnel, however, killings en masse should be avoided, as it would cause suspicion.
And as noble as it might be, healing ordinary humans should be avoided, as it would be detrimental to Foundation secrecy.
