Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 2.1 meter (width) by 3.2 meter (depth) by 2.5 meter (height) room with 50 cm thick concrete walls in Sector-██. If any subjects are to enter SCP-XXXX, they must be among a group of subjects as to avoid problems similar to that of SCP-432. Under no circumstances is any SCP to enter SCP-XXXX nor is any from within SCP-XXXX allowed out of the containment cell without the presence of Dr. ███████.

Description: SCP-XXXX is considered to be the sister anomaly to SCP-432. It is a 3 cm thick, 1 meter by 2 meter door made of an unidentified wood surrounded by a wooden frame. Upon opening SCP-XXXX from the front (the side facing the entrance to the containment cell), the object opens into an extra-dimensional space, referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. The version of SCP-XXXX on the other side (SCP-XXXX-1) is made of the same wood and has a stone frame.

Although the object has no physical lock nor key, it seems to lock itself between the hours of ██:00 to ██:00 every day. The back side of SCP-XXXX is covered by a wooden board about 5 cm thick. The back side of SCP-XXXX-1 is a solid stone wall about 10 cm thick.

SCP-XXXX-2:
On the other side of SCP-XXXX, subjects consistently report arriving at a labyrinth of stone without a ceiling, resembling a hedge maze. Any creature within SCP-XXXX-2 outside of the immediate area of SCP-XXXX-1 is extremely hostile. SCP-XXXX-2 is seemingly infinite with the labyrinth extending to and/or past the horizon when viewed from a high vantage point.

SCP-XXXX-2, although visible from above and able to be charted, due to its layout potentially being infinite, no attempt for a complete map has been made as of yet, however, a partial map of the immediate surrounding area has been made and seems to be consistent with each mission to explore SCP-XXXX-2.

The creatures within SCP-XXXX-2 are very diverse and range from mammalian to reptilian to arthropods.The majority of the creatures that have been discovered are venomous. However, there have been some animals that avoid danger and are considered probably the primary consumer of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-3 Is considered to be the apex predator of SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-3:
Description: Within SCP-XXXX-2, there is a humanoid bipedal figure (SCP-XXXX-3). SCP-XXXX-3 is just under 2 meters in height and is harmless to anyone who enters SCP-XXXX unless provoked. SCP-XXXX-3 can speak English, German, French, Japanese, and Dutch, depending on the person they are talking to. The organism refers to itself as "The Gatekeeper of the Labyrinth" and labels its name as "Cynos" (pronounced like "sinus")

Behavior: SCP-XXXX-3 is often described as "friendly" and "helpful" by subjects sent in to explore SCP-XXXX-2. Information received from SCP-XXXX-3 is often reliable and truthful, with one exception of where exactly the boundaries of its "territory" within the labyrinth are. This inaccuracy varies as its claims are different each day, however, the average of its claims are quite accurate to the true border of its territory.

SCP-XXXX-3's territory rarely is a danger as any hostile creature that enters is killed by SCP-XXXX-3. This area always contains and is centered around the SCP-XXXX-1. Due to SCP-XXXX consistently connecting SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX's containment cell, SCP-XXXX-3 considers the cell to be within its territory as well, and has on occasion left SCP-XXXX-2 to walk around in the cell. Although, it has not yet been outside of the room.

SCP-XXXX-3 has not yet killed any subject and has been reported to saving the lives of █ of them, and has rescued Subject ████ on multiple occasions. Because of this, all subject groups have been accompanied by SCP-XXXX-3 and has not resulted in any recorded casualties yet. However, there have been some cases of subjects straying from the group and becoming lost within SCP-XXXX-2. According to SCP-XXXX-3, their chances of being found alive are slim if they are not found shortly afterwards, however no trace of any of the subjects have been recovered from after their disappearances.

SCP-XXXX-3 has since settled into the containment cell similarly to any human-like SCP (such as SCP-134), requesting a few items such as a bed, bookshelf, and desk; and has seemed to made the cell a kind of home, although it spends most of its time in SCP-XXXX-2. Dr. ███████ has spoken with SCP-XXXX-3 on multiple occasions, however cannot extract information on anything prior to SCP-XXXX's discovery nor any further information on SCP-XXXX.

Excerpt from one of said transcripts:

> Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-3

Interviewer: Dr. ███████
Location: SCP-XXXX's Containment Cell
Foreword: SCP-XXXX-3 acts very calm and talks with a steady tone.

<Begin Log, ██:██>

Dr. ███████: "I am here with SCP-XXXX-3"

SCP-XXXX-3: interrupting "My name is Cynos"
Dr. ███████: "Alright, fine. Cynos, since you have not proved a threat to any subject involved in the study of SCP-XXXX, I have authorized a discussion with you to find out more."
SCP-XXXX-3: "Sure, what do you want to know?"
Dr. ███████: "Do you have any recollection of anything prior to the containment of SCP-XXXX?"
SCP-XXXX-3: "No, I don't know anything that happened before this door was here."
Dr. ███████: "Interesting. Do you know anything about what you are or where you came from?"
SCP-XXXX-3: "No, I only recall as far back as the day I woke up about an hour before the door was opened by you all."
Dr. ███████: "So, you are saying you know absolutely nothing prior to us opening the door at [DATA EXPUNGED]? Okay, how about your thoughts on the ███ subjects we have sent through into SCP-XXXX-2?"
SCP-XXXX-3: "Some are nice, some not so much, what you'd expect from people. I have had to save a handful of them, they'd probably die if I wasn't there. However, one of them, ████, I've gotten to know a bit better."
Dr. ███████: "Okay. That concludes our conversation, there will be a group of █ subjects later today."
SCP-XXXX-3: "Alright."
<End Log, ██:██>

Due to SCP-XXXX-3's familiarity to Subject ████, most groups sent in have included this subject. Dr. ███████ reports:

"SCP-XXXX-3 and Subject ████ have grown quite close to each other and have repeatedly been reported to have the behavior of long time friends, talking of many references to previous missions and mishaps that have occurred within SCP-XXXX-2." -Dr. ███████
