Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is under constant surveillance but is occasionally allowed to wander The Foundation grounds. Personnel may enter and exit SCP-XXXX’s container as they see fit. SCP-XXXX-A [see Addendum A] is not to be removed from SCP-XXXX’s line of sight. Instances of SCP-XXXX-B [see Addendum B] are to be kept contained until they are needed and must be contained apart from SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an indestructible muscular human male measuring 1.95 meters [6.39 feet] tall. Its outward appearance is unremarkable aside from the bright silver tint of its hair, despite appearing only to be somewhere between 3 and 4 decades in age, and inability to speak. SCP-XXXX is a non-hostile entity who has been diagnosed with PTSD by Dr. [REDACTED], who is employed by The Foundation, during initial testing procedures. The same Dr. [REDACTED] found SCP-XXXX while [REDACTED] on 12/30/1986 at [REDACTED]. There were no witnesses of the incident and the subject was promptly brought to the Foundation. Though unsure, SCP-XXXX compiled with interviewing and testing procedures. It was recorded that there is an unidentifiable symbol on the back of the subject’s neck, which it’s unable to provide additional information on. Despite the subject’s inability to speak, it could not communicate using any form of sign language, but instead uses written language closely resembling cuneiform. Additional personnel are required to translate during sessions with SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX has no recollection of its early life or how it gained its abilities. Upon interviewing the subject, as reaffirmed by Dr.[REDACTED], SCP-XXXX is driven by an unknown force to protect those in harm’s way. It only works on those who are within its line of sight. Therefore, those being hurt on the other side of the world will not summon SCP-XXXX. The subject, as reaffirmed by testing on XX/XX/XX, is still able to feel pain like any non-anomalous human despite being unable to show any physical effects of harm done to it. The subject is unable to recall every instance of its anomalous behavior but can retell those of significance with extreme detail. To SCP-XXXX, significant instances of its behavior are those which failed to protect the corresponding individual. The subject is tortured with flashbacks of these instances and the pain it has felt from protecting humans. This incurred the PTSD diagnosis, along with other symptoms typical of the psychological disorder.

Addendum-A: SCP-XXXX-A is a papyrus scroll held in a well-crafted scroll case. The papyrus is lined with tally marks, the vast majority are black but some are red. An interview with SCP-XXXX revealed that each black tally is a human life it has saved while red marks were unsuccessful attempts. Despite the object having a finite size and shape of [REDACTED], the scroll continues indefinitely when unrolled. It appears as though it may fall apart with the slightest touch, but is indestructible like the original subject. SCP-XXXX also cannot remember where the scroll came from nor can its origins be discerned by Foundation staff. Since SCP-XXXX-A is indestructible and cannot be removed from SCP-XXXX’s line of sight, it cannot be analyzed to carbon date its age or any other identifiable information.

Addendum-B: SCP-XXXX-B are copies of SCP-XXXX made through the use of other SCPs anomalous abilities. These reproductions are the same as the original subject aside from three aspects.

1. There is no mark on the back of SCP-XXXX-Bs’ necks. Instead, it is replaced by an unremarkable birthmark that is identical on each copy.
2. These subjects still adhere to laws governing human life, such as aging and mortality. SCP-XXXX-B can die.
3. Each copy shares memories with the original subject but has no insight into the other copies’ minds. SCP-XXXX receives all feedback from SCP-XXXX-B as if it is experiencing it firsthand. The original subject then experiences the appropriate psychological repercussions and physical sensations.

Addendum-C: Additional personnel have been hired to teach SCP-XXXX English. As of XX/XX/XX, SCP-XXXX can communicate using English to the equivalent of a 6-year-old child.

Update: As of XX/XX/XX, SCP-XXXX is fluent in English. Outside personnel hired to assist with the subject have been given amnesiacs and released to their lives outside The Foundation. No known repercussions from this procedure have occurred.

Addendum-D: Use of SCP-XXXX-B is restricted. These subjects are only to be created and used upon approval by The Foundations 05 members. Please submit requests for due process.

Addendum-E: 05 members have approved the psychological treatment of SCP-XXXX on XX/XX/XX to improve its mental disorder(s). It is hypothesized that resolving mental issues will reveal other, potentially beneficial, abilities. Better surveillance and staff enforcement has been instituted should the subject become hostile or uncover more anomalous abilities.

Test A Start: XX/XX/XX End: Ongoing

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: Multiple D-class personnel were put through rigorous testing within the line of sight of the subject. Subtest A-1 was conducted by exposing D-class personnel to a multitude of physical attacks by professional weapon masters and martial artists. Subtest A-2 incurred non-physical means of attack on D-class personnel, such as carbon monoxide poisoning, fire, and by psionic means from other SCPs.**

Results: In subtest A-1, when D-class personnel were attacked simultaneously, SCP-XXXX appeared in front of the closest one under attack. Neither SCP-XXXX nor surveillance can decipher whether this is a form of teleportation or movement that is so fast that it is undetectable. Outside of using its anomalous abilities, SCP-XXXX is unable to move at speeds outside of the normal human range.

Analysis: From subtest A-1, SCP-XXXX is known to teleport to the closest human in harm’s way until the threat stops. If other nearby humans are still under threat, the process will continue until the protected human is safe or dead. Due to SCP-XXXX still feeling pain but unable to speak, its body remains fixed in protecting but its face contorts in pain accordingly. When following up with SCP-XXXX after testing, emotional distress from the subject is heightened. Despite SCP-XXXX’s meek behavior, D-class personnel once protected by the subject report feeling overcome with a sense of adoration and dedication for it. These emotions do not seem out of the ordinary for said personnel, nor does the fact that they suffer no psychological distress following the incident or the realization that SCP-XXXX is indestructible. If the subject ever acts out, inflicting pain on it will incapacitate it until it is put back in containment.

Test B Start: XX/XX/XX End: Ongoing

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: Multiple subtests between SCP-XXXX and other subjects were conducted. Tests between other SCPs and SCP-XXXX are still ongoing. Subtests B-1 used other SCPs as means to reproduce or replicate the subject. Subtests B-2 used other SCPs, such as SCP-682, to test the invulnerability of the subject.

Results: For results of subtests B-1, see Addendum B and Test C for the creation of SCP-XXXX-B. The results of subtests B-2 showed that hostile SCPs have no physical effects on the subject. A more in-depth report of Test B can be seen in file [REDACTED].

Analysis: SCP-XXXX can be incapacitated using some psychological and psionic attacks. Any and all physical attacks prove moot. Even non-lethal physical actions, such as using a needle to attempt to draw blood, cannot harm the subject. SCP-XXXX’s skin is invulnerable. However, due to the subject’s long battle with PTSD, it has developed strong mental fortitude.

Test C - Start: XX/XX/XX END: XX/XX/XX

Subject: SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-A is under constant surveillance but was put through tests to determine its potential anomalous abilities. SCP-XXXX-Bs were put through the same tests as the original SCP-XXXX.
Results: SCP-XXXX-A is just as indestructible as the original SCP-XXXX. If removed from the original subject’s line of sight, no matter the means, it will appear back in the possession of SCP-XXXX. To the personnel who took SCP-XXXX-A out of the original subject’s line of sight, they will suffer from Acute Stress Disorder for the following two weeks with similar flashbacks described by SCP-XXXX. After the two week period, the personnel have no memory of the acute stress and believe they returned SCP-XXXX-A to the original subject despite the contrary. The same personnel have reported tally marks on the back of their neck, each representing a time they have taken SCP-XXXX-A. Additionally, the tallies inside SCP-XXXX-A automatically appear once the original subject has completed an attempt to protect a human life.

Analysis: When SCP-XXXX notices SCP-XXXX-A has been taken, it undergoes emotional distress until it is returned. For a period of time following such an incident, the original subject will hide SCP-XXXX-A from others with a sense of shame. If the original subject does not notice it has gone missing, no repercussions will occur. This, however, is extremely rare since SCP-XXXX can usually tell when it has returned.
