Item #: SCP-5929

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5929 is self-containing.

Description: SCP-5929 is the entry for SCP-5929 in the SCP database. SCP-5929 does not exist; regular system scans indicate that this page is blank. Despite this, upon accessing the SCP-5929 file, subjects invariably report that the entry exists, and are able to accurately describe its contents.

Each viewer appears to be able to see a distinct version of this file. Many subjects have reported significant alterations to the contents of the file upon subsequent viewings; the mechanism determining the character and degree of these alterations is not fully understood, although informing the subject of the nature of the anomaly typically produces larger-scale changes. These effects seem to only extend to the database entry itself; reproductions are existent, differentiable, and unchanging once recorded, and can be viewed by others regardless of whether or not the viewer has previously seen SCP-5929. (See Addendum 5929.1 for a log of reproductions of SCP-5929).

It is believed that the perceived contents of this file are related to human pattern recognition capabilities.

Addendum 5929.1: Reproductions of SCP-5929, excerpted

Subject: D-18477

Notes: Subject previously assigned to SCP-████; termination postponed. Primed on other recently-added short, low-clearance articles before exposure.

Item #: SCP-5929

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5929 should not be looked at unless neccessary. SCP-5929 should not be overridden without express permission from a Level 3 operator.

Description: SCP-5929 is an SCP file but it isn't there according to the IT department. There's an unusual affect when you view it where you think it is there and filled in with words. The words usually say that its not there.

The words are different based on who looks at the file. When you look at the file, other people can't see what you see, but you can write down what you see and then they can see that. Sometimes the words change the next time you see them, and it can happen more if you get told what's going on.

We think SCP-5929 is your brain filling in the gaps with what it thinks should be here. People in the articles often seem like stereotypes.

Discovery: SCP-5929 was discovered on ████/██/██ by D-18477

Reproductions of SCP-5929 themselves can contain examples of reproductions of SCP-5929 (or related phenomena), claimed to be written by other subjects. No external records have been found of these other subjects interacting with SCP-59294, and these reproductions seem to be written in the way that the original subject would expect them to be, based on whatever information is provided about the alleged authors. No upper limit has been found for the recursive depth possible (see Addendum 5929.2 for supplemental testing logs). Examinations of these nested reproductions have not found any notable differences beyond semi-localized tonal convolutions5, so they have been omitted from the above excerpts for brevity.

Some more ideas for tests (consider either replacing some of the above, or scrapping the 7-test requirement since a lot of 7s appear already):
