Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored inside of an airtight containment chamber with no exits or entrances.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a body of clear gas inside of a jar located. SCP-XXXX when inhaled gives off a taste of pine sap inside of the subject's mouth and a heavy feeling in the lungs.

It is observed that when SCP-XXXX is inside of the lungs, it multiplies and the old body of gas is absorbed by the lung tissue. Within the first 30 minutes of inhalation, no effects are able to be observed, however, approximately 45 minutes after inhalation, the subject will contract a sudden desire to be relocated to a heavily forested area. If they are not transported to the desired location, they will begin to experience negative emotions and become fatigued.

After approximately an hour and thirty minutes, if the subject is not in a comfortable location such as a forest, SCP-XXXX's old body will become active and the subject will begin to experience excruciating pain and manifesting suicidal thoughts. If the subject is kept from killing themselves, the transformation to wood spreads to other internal organs. The subject is killed approximately a day after inhaling SCP-XXXX, however the infection continues to spread until the entirety of the subjects body has been transformed into wood. The now wooden corpse of the victim will begin to create a new instance of this gas if not contained. The wood is of an unknown type, as the wood has been proven to be resistant to most tools. However, pieces of wood that have been removed begin to slowly turn to a mixture of skin-like material, blood, and sharp thorns made from what appears to be bone. The mixture is now classified as SCP-XXXX-2. Tests have not yet been conducted on the wood nor SCP-XXXX-2.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are highly hostile and are to be contained inside of 3 meter thick walled cell always kept at a temperature of -184°C or below. SCP-XXXX-2 have the ability to morph their shape to move through small openings, they have also been proven to climb along any angle of wall or ceiling. These instances have been proven to resistant to electric currents, high temperatures up to 2760°C, high-velocity objects, extreme weights, and most explosions. Temperatures below -184°C have been proven to slow down or freeze instances of SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-2's method of attack is by using stealth to take it's prey by surprise. They have been known to cling to ceiling and drop onto passerby, quickly slithering into any nearby orifice. Once inside of its prey, it will navigate to the brain and split into several smaller instances of SCP-XXXX-2 and order them to different location of the body. The main instance stays at the brain, stabbing its thorns into the brain's Hypothalamus and locking up the control of stress hormones. The smaller instances move to the stomach, lungs, intestines, and heart. From there, these instances begin to leech off of the host, stealing all nutrients that enter until the host dies, in which the smaller instances combine with the main instance again and exit the host. In the case that the main instance is subdued, all smaller instances that split from it will die.

The only known way to destroy an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 is to transport it to a group of SCP-XXXX-3, in-which their aura will convert it into a highly effective natural fertilizer with an unknown composition.

Research conducted on subjects who were allowed transportation to the desired location seem to get a burst of energy upon arrival, and begin to frolic amongst the trees and plants. Subjects conflicted that were transported do not show any further negative symptoms of the infection. However, after approximately a day has passed and they are kept happy, subjects begin to mutate and generate a natural aura around them. Subjects with these symptoms are to be classified as SCP-XXXX-3.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-3 are docile and are to be contained within a secluded forest in ███████████, North Carolina. The appearance of SCP-XXXX-3 instances resemble a human with unkept hair, pointy ears, and fingers with green tips. Instances of SCP-XXXX-3 appear to have supernatural abilities, allowing them the revival of withered plants, speeding up the growth of plants and trees, and the ability to telepathically communicate with humans and wildlife. These instances have been shown to build societies and towns when exposed to each other. They have also created their own language, consisting of clicks, grunts, and whistles called "Nymphon", as well as a language that has little info and is under extensive research. Along with their own language, they are quick learners and can be taught any language simply by touching an entity that speaks that language. Instances of SCP-XXXX-3 haveEffects of being within 30 feet of an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 consist of a desire to garden, a boost in serotonin and dopamine, and the feeling of comfort and safety.

Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery and Appearance
SCP-XXXX was originally found in a worn down house in a dense forest located in ███████, Wyoming during an investigation regarding strange noises. The jar it's stored in has a label on the top of the lid with the text "Pinular Gas".

Addendum XXXX.2: Interview with an instance of SCP-XXXX-3
The following interview was conducted by Dr. █████████

Interviewer: Dr. █████████

Interviewee: Influa, an instance of SCP-XXXX-3

Foreword: Dr. █████████ has a talk with an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 about their natural language after touching the instance.

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. █████████: (Taps on an instance of SCP-XXXX-3) Greetings, my name is Dr. █████████, I'm a scientist in the SCP Foundation. I've come here today to learn more about your language.

SCP-XXXX-3 instance: Oh! (Turns towards Dr. █████████ and smiles) Greetings to you as well, my name is Influa, I suppose I could assist you with this. What information do you need, Dr. █████████?

Dr. █████████: We've noticed that you communicate through various noises, I currently have no way to translate this, may you help with teaching me how to talk in your natural tongue?

Influa: It is a bit complicated, but I am sure you will understand. We do not have as many words as your language, we actually just use these sounds to signal others.

Dr. █████████: (Taking notes) Mhm…

Influa: First, our clicks. Clicks are used for greeting, one click for a stranger, two clicks for a friend, three clicks for a lover, and four clicks for family. So if you were to greet me in Nymphon, you would just click once.

Dr. █████████: (Still taking notes, they look up at Influa) Your language sound quite simple, you said this would be complicated, yes?

Influa: Well, yes, I did, but I haven't finished teaching you yet! Finally, our grunting. When it comes to our grunts, we have several meanings for different grunts. These are based on the pitch of grunt, which is combined with a click or whistle. When it comes to combining these with clicks, the meaning is unaffected by the pitch. A normal click, as you know already, is a greeting. However, a click with a grunt before or after the click is a farewell. As for combining them with a whistle, I wouldn't know, as I am younger than the rest and whistles are learnt later in life when you are gifted with a weapon or tool.

Dr. █████████: (Finishes writing the information down, then look up at Influa again) Thank you, Influa, you have helped with this study a lot by teaching me this. I hope you have a great day. (Walks back towards the entrance of the containment)

Influa: (Before Dr. █████████ gets too far, she pushes a small flower into the pocket of Dr. █████████ and smiles as they walk away)

[END LOG]

Closing Statement: After Dr. █████████ was taken back to the facility, the information was logged and then stored. Dr. █████████ later found the flower in their pocket and has kept it in a small storage container inside of their office.
