Item #: SCP-3724

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Site-3724 must be staffed by four armed guards. Two off-site snipers are stationed on the rooftops of nearby buildings for cases of a breach in containment. Site-3724 is bordered by fences with barbed wire and signs designating the area as restricted. As such guards and snipers will respond to all unauthorized attempts to access the structure at Site-3724 with one warning shot. Continued attempts will be met with lethal force. One on-site director must be present at all times, hereby designated Director 3724, as well as an off-site replacement director for emergency cases. All Foundation personnel transferred from Site-3724 must be given amnestics to prevent the declassification of the site’s location. The class of these amnestics will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

As of ██/██/2004, the structure at Site-3724 is completely sealed. It must be constantly surveyed by Director 3724 or approved staff for damage. All damage detected must be reported immediately, at which point the on-site director will organize repairs as needed to maintain the building’s structural integrity.

All information regarding the nature of SCP-3724 is to be restricted to Foundation staff of Level 4 or higher clearance. Any exception to this rule must be the decision of Director 3724. All staff below the specified clearance level who are transferred to Site-3724 must be informed that unauthorized contact with the structure is grounds for immediate on-site termination. Upon detecting a breach of the structure, the off-site snipers will be instructed to terminate all on-site staff before contacting the off-site replacement director. Protocol S-3724-BR1 will be initiated.

Should other instances of SCP-3724 ever be discovered, or should the current instance ever breach containment fully, all Foundation locations housing Class-D personnel are to initiate Protocol 3724-D-Blackout2.

Description: SCP-3724 is an as of yet undetectable entity capable of being any artificial structure, defined by at least four walls and a ceiling, however it is only able to be one building at a time. The anomaly can only transfer between buildings through SCP-3724-1 entities.

SCP-3724 is currently a foundation-built structure the size of a small house, located [REDACTED]. It is a completely sealed cube with a pyramid-shaped roof to deflect rainfall. The floor and walls are constructed out of a single mass of concrete and the roof is an angled sheet of insulated 20mm steel. It is connected to the concrete with multiple industrial and classified adhesives to ensure it remains sealed. See Log C-3724 for discovery and containment attempts.

All humans who enter SCP-3724 are subjected to anomalous infection and are to be immediately classified as SCP-3724-1 entities. If an instance of SCP-3724-1 enters any structure, for as long as SCP-3724-1 remains inside, the building is capable of becoming SCP-3724.

There is no known way to detect a difference between an SCP-3724-1 entity and an unaffected human until in the presence of Class-D personnel. When Class-D personnel come within eyesight are detected in any way by SCP-3724-1, the entity’s mouth will stretch open vertically, approximately nine times the normal gape, and widen until the entire face is no longer visible. The interior of the mouth and throat will visibly blur and darken when viewed. It will then reach its arms out in the direction of the detected Class-D and run towards it. Upon physical contact with SCP-3724-1, the Class-D will be absorbed into the mouth of the entity in no more than one half second, after which the entity’s face will return to its normal state, and it will have no memory of the event. The whereabouts of the consumed personnel are unknown. SCP-3724-1 entities have no other known targets, and seem to prey specifically on Class-D personnel of the Foundation. SCP-3724-1’s predatory behavior has been observed both inside and outside of SCP-3724, and there is no known way to remove the anomalous infection without terminating the host.

Addendum-1: The nature of SCP-3724 has generated proposals by several different Foundation members involved in its containment that the existence of this anomaly is a direct attack on the Foundation itself. Due to the lack of data, the proposals are still under review, however it is certain that SCP-3724 poses an undeniable threat to the ability of the foundation to learn about and contain unexplained and dangerous anomalies, and has been made a priority to permanently contain. A breach in containment has a high chance of repeating the massive loss of Foundation personnel life experienced during its discovery.

Addendum-2: The ██/██/2005 proposal to reclassify SCP-3724 as Euclid from Keter has been approved due to the evidence supporting the theory that there are no remaining SCP-3724-1 entities.
