Special Containment Procedures: The land near SCP-XXXX has been purchased from the nearest town and has converted into Site-43. Any roads leading to SCP-XXXX have been redirected and all walking paths have been removed. The entrance into SCP-XXXX is to be guarded by two Level-2 security officers. Any entry into SCP-XXXX requires on-site senior researcher permission and must be documented.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a one-floor library near Lansing, Michigan, measuring 300 meters². Within SCP-XXXX a spacial anomaly occurs. The interior of the entity is 600 meter², and a second floor is present. Bookshelves within SCP-XXXX are arranged at random. Those who have explored the interior of the entity compare the layout to a maze or labyrinth.

Within the lobby, there is a reception desk which is used by Margaret Grazers, who has been classified as SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A is a 50-year-old woman approximately 170 cm tall. SCP-XXXX-A greets anyone who enters SCP-XXXX and asks whether they are looking for a specific title. If a person names a specific title or topic, SCP-XXXX-A invariably replies that the topic or title is currently unavailable. Field agents have questioned city residents; no information regarding SCP-XXXX-A was obtained, other than that she has never been seen outside of the entity. Class-A amnestics were administered following questioning.

Should the subject remain within the entity and search for a book, they will occasionally see the same book placed in various sections around the area, including sections where it doesn't belong. The book differs between subjects, but the topic of the book is always something the subject needed. Books brought outside of SCP-XXXX are classified as SCP-XXXX-X. There are currently 17 instances of SCP-XXXX-X that have been retrieved.

Addendum: All results pertaining to death, disasters, and other info-hazardous events are to be immediately reported to the site director.

Test 3 - Aug 23, 2014

Subject: D-4759
Procedure: D-4759 was sent into the library with the intent of researching "Wild Forest Snakes." Subject had been denied any access to food for 14 hours prior to the test.
Results: Subject was unsuccessful in retrieving the requested topic. The subject left the building with a book titled, Hunting and Gathering in the Modern World, by Robert Granger.
Analysis: The entity doesn't seem to be aware of a subject's situation, rather only their current most important need.

Test 12 - Aug 27, 2014

Subject: D-6832
Procedure: D-6832 was asked to retrieve any book with the topic relating to mechanical engineering. Subject was not denied anything but had a history of having poor social skills.
Results: Subject was unsuccessful in retrieving the requested topic. The Subject left the building with a book about Sock Puppets titled, Sock Pals, and How to Make Them!, by Samantha Door.
Analysis: The entity seems to prioritize social requirements once all survival requirements have been met. This suggests that the entity understands social needs.

Test 14 - Aug 30, 2014

Subject: Agent Sparks
Procedure: Sparks was sent into the library with the intent of finding books about cooking, which the researcher deemed to be an important skill that the agent lacked. The subject had no other known disabilities or requirements.
Results: The subject left the building with no success in finding the requested topic. However, Sparks returned with a book about how to respond to emergency situations. Later that day there was an incident that caused a small fire in the Northwest corner of the entity. Due to Agent Sparks being in the area, he recognized the signs and was able to contact Site-43 containment specialists.
Analysis: This incident suggests two theories. That the entity is aware of its sentience and prioritizes self-preservation over trivial needs of the subject it is trying to help. Alternatively, this incident might have resulted in harm to the subject, in which the entity both prevented its own destruction, as well as the harming of the subject.

Test 17 - Sep 5, 2014

Subject: Officer Martinez
Procedure: Officer Martinez requested permission to enter the library due to increasing stress. Permission granted.
Results: Martinez returned with a bool pertaining to coping with death. Martinez reported that his wife had recently been diagnosed with a life threatening condition.
Analysis: Officer Martinez has been allowed leave due to a death within his family two weeks following the test.

<Begin Log, 8:15 AM>

David: "Good morning Ms. Grazers."

Grazers: "Good morning sir. I don't believe I've seen you in here before. Is there anything I can help you with?"

David: "No thank you ma'am. I'm actually here to ask you a few questions."

Grazers: "Oh, that's strange. Most of the questions I get are about books."

David: "To begin, how long have you worked in this Library?"

Grazers: "I'm nearing my 17^th year soon. It's in a month or so I believe."

David: "Is that so? Are you aware of the anomaly that occurs within this building?"

Grazers: "Yes."

David: "So that means you know that it distributes books that seem to help people?"

Grazers: "Right! Except, I'd like to word it differently. I believe that it is the people themselves that find what they need, the library only helps them."

David: "Interesting… Are you the one who controls this phenomenon?"

Grazers: "Not at all! I merely work for the library."

David: "Do you know how the spacial anomaly occurs within this building?"

Grazers: "Come again?"

David: "The building is much bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Are you aware of this?"

Grazers: "No, not at all. I don't even know how something like that would be possible."

David: "The building is an entire floor bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Speaking of the outside; I apologize to ask again, but would you please leave the building? This would help us greatly in our research, and once we are finished we promise you can get right back to your work."

Grazers: "I have already said it to your knuckle-headed friends, and I will say it again to you! I am not moving from this spot!"

David: "Why is this? Is there any kind of thing preventing you from doing so?"

Grazers: "I refuse to leave this important place just because some men in lab-coats and orange jackets think they know what they need!"

David: "On that note, we have never seen you get up and leave. Do you not need to eat or sleep?"

Grazers: "Of course I eat. There is a staff room in the back with my lunch in it."

David: "Would you mind if I looked into this room?"

Grazers: "I'm afraid not, that is a staff only area."

David: "Ms. Grazers, don't be ridiculous. You are unwilling to even show me your lunch?"

Grazers: "Not anymore, since you've put me in a bad mood."

David: "Then what about sleeping? Do you just so happen to sleep in this staff room as well?"

Grazers: "You're absolutely correct. The library has a living space in it. I didn't have my own house when I started working, so I've been living here since."

David: "Do you expect us do believe that? Especially if you don't show us?"

Grazers: "I don't need you to believe me. I know it's there and that is all that matters!"

David: "Well, I guess that concludes our interview. I hope you change your mind about coming outside."

Grazers: "Don't count on it."

Additional Notes: Inspection of the interior of SCP-XXXX revealed no staff break room. Ms. Grazers has yet to move since the interview, and it is unknown if she moved prior.
