Description:
SCP # is a book of undetermined age, written in an unknown language, 41.3 cm tall 23.4 cm wide 9.2 cm deep. SCP # suffers from heavy degradation, likely from neglectful storage or handling. Initial findings show that SCP # cannot be photographed effectively, as the photograph will be black where SCP # would be, neither can SCP # be filmed as the same effect occurs. SCP #’s cover is reddish brown in the parts where moisture has not degraded the material, and greyish black in the places it has, ridges in the leather-like material suggest that it was once ornamented. SCP # has no remaining indication of a title, and simply starts with illegible text, that continues for 328 pages. The pages of SCP # is not very flexible and cracks easily, cracked pieces is kept in place by a loosely woven fabric at the core of each page. The writing is in dark purple ink of unknown composition.

Results from Carbon-14 dating pages of SCP # showed no carbon molecules present in the sample. Upon collecting the sample from the page, D Class personnel lost one toe, which had dissolved completely upon removing the shoe and sock. Further tests requiring samples have been put on hold until further notice.

Experiments with photographing copies of pages, and drawings of SCP # for cataloging has proved unsuccessful, as even incorrect copies produces the blackness on photographs, and scans.
Class C personnel has been tasked with copying the pages of SCP #. No casualties have been reported, although several injuries have occured during the process, most of them had healed in a matter of days.

Copying pages from SCP #, seems to have a positive effect on personnel assigned, as they all report high levels of satisfaction, even when injured. Additionally when hanging a copied page in the cafeteria at site-73, morale improved drastically for a short while, before returning to normal. Repeating the experiment, has yielded similar results.
