DrWalsh - The 4th Dimensional Ring
rating: 0+x

Item # SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently kept inside Dr. A. Walsh's office at Site-27, in a black ring box made to fit the item. Researcher’s can submit a request to use the item for testing as long as they meet the following requirements:

1.Must pass a psychological exam provided by the medical division of Site-27.
2.Must have a clean record of previous tests with anomalous objects.
3.Must pass a test proving general understanding of the 4th spacial dimension.

If a researcher meets these requirements then their request will be reviewed by Dr. Walsh, who must be present during the test if it is carried out. If needed, the item should be transported within its current box to avoid any accidental rotating of one’s dimensional axis.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a simple silver band 20.2mm in diameter and 6mm wide. It has no engravings on the outside nor the inside, but has a golden dial that wraps around it’s circumference. This dial is capable of turning, and snaps into place every 180° rotated.

SCP-XXXX’s primary anomalous effect is observed when a person wears the ring and turns the dial, allowing it to click into primary position. The wearer will feel massively disoriented, as their plane of existence is rotated. This rotation orients their plane so that what was originally their X direction is now their W direction, with Y and Z remaining the same. This grants the user the ability to walk in a fourth direction that is perpendicular to both the X and Z axis of our plane.

After this rotation occurs, what the wearer of SCP-XXXX sees varies depending on where they are.

If the user of SCP-XXXX rotates the dial a second time, this planar shift will occur again and they will oriented along the X, Y, Z plane again. However, if the wearer moved at all during the primary rotation, they will be located on a new 3-dimensional slice, as their W coordinate is modified. Despite this, the user can easily return to their point of origin if that is what they desire, even though it would be near-impossible to re-position themselves correctly. This is believed to be a secondary effect of SCP-XXXX.
