Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Special Containment Procedures are currently presumed impossible. Any suggestions for methods of prevention of SCP-XXXX events should be submitted to SCP-XXXX's head researcher, currently Dr. Johnathan Ward.

Should staff realise they are trapped in a SCP-XXXX event, they are advised to not panic, and find a method of breaking the temporal loop.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an occurrence in which a Foundation containment site enters a temporal loop. During SCP-XXXX events, the day will continue to reset at 23:59 and begin again at 6:30 the same morning. Individuals caught in a SCP-XXXX loop will forget all prior events, and anyone that died during the day, such as in the event of a containment breach, will be revived. Once an individual, henceforth referred to as the subject, becomes aware of the continuity loop, they will no longer forget previous continuity loops. This does not restore the subject's memories of loops prior to becoming aware of the time loop.

A subject can become aware of the current SCP-XXXX event through a variety of methods, most subjects claim they experienced heavy déjà vu, before realising that the sense of familiarity is not coincidence. They all claim that the loop had broken, but none are aware of how, or if there even was a cause for the loop breaking beyond happenstance.

SCP sites not experiencing an SCP-XXXX event will be entirely unaware of when one occurs at another site. It appears that outside observers can only witness the final loop as it is broken, and time will continue passing as normal for them.

Addendum: Interview with SCP-XXXX affected personnel.

Interviewed: D-53452, Dr. Ethan Taylor, Security Guard Thompson

Interviewer: Dr. Johnathan Ward

Foreword: Interview with all three personnel occurred at same time. All three claim to have become aware of the SCP-XXXX event at roughly the same time.

Dr. Ward: So… you claim the three of you broke an SCP-XXXX event during a containment breach at Site-██? Please describe

Dr. Taylor: Yes… We're on the record, I presume, so I'll keep this as concise as I can. It was a… convoluted and confusing… well, eight weeks, I think.
D-53452: About that… It was fucking freaky - power went out, door to my cell was busted open by one of your things… The one you keep eye contact with. I freak and left the cell. Tried keep eye contact. Bumped into the doc. Felt weird. Like it had happened exactly the same way before.
Dr. Taylor: It did… Turned to look, noticed SCP-173, kept eye contact. We kept it there and called for security. Heard something, turned my head, and then the thing was gone and D-53452 was on the floor - snapped neck. Not sure how I survived…
D-53452: I just remember blinking and waking up in my cell - then the power cut… But I realised something… I should have been dead. But I wasn't.
Dr. Ward: And SCP-173?
Dr. Taylor: Lost it. Then I found Thompson babbling in a corner. Managed to predict things with a creepy amount of accuracy… We both… died soon after. Messy.

Thompson: Yet here we are. We found eachother again soon after. Tried to escape to the surface. Took the D-Class with us, yes, we know it's against procedures.

Dr. Taylor: We hoped we could use her as a witness - Clearly, we made it eventually.

D-53452: Eventually… I died twenty times!

Thompson: We recall…

[Thompson sighs]

Thompson: It was… hell. Eventually it just… stopped though. The three of us lived the same containment breach for eight weeks. Maybe more. I just… That does something to you. That… I'm requesting reassignment to a non-containment site.

Dr. Ward: I will forward your request to the appropriate management. So, you say you didn't stop it yourself? It just stopped for reasons you are unaware of?

D-53452: Basically…
Dr. Ward: Any final words for this interview?
Dr. Taylor: An offical request for an amnestic cocktail for me and the D-Class.
D-53452: Can I… like… just get a cup of coffee, or something other than porridge to eat for once?
Dr. Ward: I can't do that, D-53452… Sorry.
<End Log>

Closing Statement: Dr. Taylor and Thompson has received amnestic treatment and been reassigned to a low-danger site. D-53452 has been reassigned to level 0 security janitorial duty at an undisclosed site at the discretion of Site Director E████ ███████. They remain under observation.
