Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All public roads, aircraft routes and pedestrian walkways passing by SCP-XXXX are to be diverted into another area. Any person or entity attempting to disregard these rules and enter SCP-XXXX’s containment site is to be given amnestics and promptly removed. Additionally, a fake structure resembling a military base has been built around SCP-XXXX to keep a level of secrecy. In conjunction with this, all personnel are to wear local military uniforms and conform to the local military standards.
No immortal entities or entities with abnormally long lifespans are to be allowed to enter SCP-XXXX unless with clearance given by at least one Level 4 personnel.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a mansion, based in [REDACTED], Ireland, styled after similar houses from the late 1800's Victorian era. When classed as “inactive” the front door is left open and the insides of an entrance corridor are visible. Upon entering through the front door of SCP-XXXX, the door will immediately and anomalously slam shut; SCP-XXXX will now considered active.
This door leads to SCP-XXXX-1, a possibly endless series of corridors. The design of each corridor varies but will always be sized suitably for a human to pass through with at least one door other than the one they came through and some form of overhead light, although almost never bright enough to fully illuminate the corridor. Once the subject enters through a door into a new corridor the door they came through will close and another door will open, leading to another corridor of a similar design. This process repeats seemingly infinitely until the subject inside SCP-XXXX-1 dies, after which the front door will reopen, SCP-is considered inactive, and no remains of the subject can be found.
Each time a subject enters SCP-XXXX-1 a new version of SCP-XXXX-1 is produced, never being the same as a previous iteration with the exception of the first corridor connected to the outside of the house. Any changes made to this first corridor will not be reset upon the creation of a new instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
Notably the further into SCP-XXXX-1 a subject progresses the less “detailed” the design of the corridors gets: containing less furnishing, less obvious decay, and less clutter. This is considered normal and any deviation from this must be reported to the senior researcher in charge of the exploration of SCP-XXXX, currently, Dr Wong.
Most deaths inside SCP-XXXX are caused by: starvation, dehydration, illness, fatal accidents, and most commonly, suicide. While inside SCP-XXXX, subjects show and increased rate of hunger and thirst as well as a higher likelihood of heart failures, asthma attacks, panic/anxiety attacks and similar conditions as well as fatal accidents. Whether this effect is caused anomalously or just from subjects’ natural fear reactions to SCP-XXXX is unknown and requires further testing. Unless specifically testing this effect, it is recommended to avoid using subjects with nervous disposition, underlying conditions, or prone to accidents.
