The walls of this container are to be padded to prevent accidntial vibrations from setting it into motion. Despite known flaws, personnel within its auditory range are to wear ear protection and alert qualified staff at any eerie emissions felt.

Description: SCP-5071 manifests itself in the form of a five-ball Newton's Cradle. SCP-5071 was located in an abandoned office complex in a remote New Mexican town. The building in question demonstrated no signs of decay, nor has any organic matter. No DNA traces remain. SCP-5071 was found in an isolated cubicle with no personal belongings or identification to reveal any form of ownership.

SCP-5071, when one enacts the object into motion, it sets any person(s) making direct eye contact into a hypnotic trance. This state remains unaffected by physical or verbal intervention, only when SCP-5071 is coaxed back into a resting state. Those entranced by the object report visual hallucinations in seeing childhood pets, deceased relatives, or even unknown entities before them.

Many have reported feelings akin to sleep paralysis, wherein one is aware of their surroundings but unable to move or speak. SCP-5071 has a remarkable ability, when set in motion, to draw those within hearing range towards its presence, almost involuntarily. Those deafened or hard of hearing even reported feeling reverberations drawing them toward SCP-5071's presence.
