Item #: SCP-4213
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4213 is to be stored inside a Class 2 Anomalous Object container at Site-███. Only personnel with Level 3 Clearance are allowed to remove SCP-4213 from containment. The object is to be kept under 24-hour surveillance and be manually inspected once a week. Testing must be approved by the on-site Research Manager (currently Dr ███████) Any change in behavior is to be reported to the Director of Research and the on-site supervisor should take action to isolate and identify the change in behavior. Should this new anomalous behaviour possibly put Foundation personnel in danger the site is to enter a lockdown and request a MTF squad to contain the situation.
Description: SCP-4213 appears to be a John Deere toolbox measuring approximately 61cm in length, 22cm in width and 28cm in height. The object appears to always be in perfect condition, however upon closer inspection the latch is loosely connected to the toolbox (See Addendum). SCP-4213 is empty on the interior, however, when the object's anomalous effects are active SCP-4213 will be filled with the contents needed for the current wielder's tasks1 (contents are to be referred to as SCP-4213-1). SCP-4213-1 consists of tools from different brands and models but are almost always common tools (ranging from screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, etc.) Rare cases of SCP-4213-1 may also include objects that aren't similar to any tools known to man, but are effective at repairs. SCP-4213 was first located in ███████, Ohio by Agent ███████████ in the town's Menards. After knowledge of SCP-4213 anomalous abilities Agent ███████████ purchased the object to not attract unnecessary attention and transported SCP-4213 with a containment unit to
Site-██ before being finally transported to Site-███.2
Addendum:
On ██/██/████ Dr ████ was the first researcher to experiment with SCP-4213 (See Testing Log-A4671-C)
Multiple investigations are on-going regarding when and where SCP-4213 was manufactured, if at all by John Deere Co. Current leads suggest that SCP-4213 was bought from the Menards in ███████ on █/██/████ but was later returned by ███████ ███████ the following afternoon, making a complaint that "the latch felt 'sticky.'" ███████ ███████ was issued a working replacement however the shop didn't pull the toolbox from its shelves and no repairs were made.
The Foundation after acquiring SCP-4213 has since repaired the latch in a experiment (See Testing Log A8142-B.)
