Special Containment Procedures: Foundation Site-21 situated in [Redacted], UK is to be temporarily permanently stationed with multiple agents and vehicles specialised in rapid response to prevent SCP-XXXX causing harm or being discovered by the populous. Reports of the entity are to be treated with maximum priority and to be attended to immediately.
Subjects mannerisms are not fully understood to researchers at the present therefore under no circumstances should pursuit be made without prior permission from a senior member of staff MTF should be deployed to any reported sightings immediately. After interview of subjects claiming to view or interact with the anomaly they are to be issued a Class–C amnestic and held under foundation custody until they have lost all memory of the incident to prevent knowledge of the anomaly spreading.
Description: Manifestations of SCP-XXXX are found in the form of Routemaster buses, displaying the phrase ‘Not in service' on the front destination indicator. They are devoid of any advertising or branding and lack various features including a license plate but are similar in every other aspect to the tradition design.
SCP-XXXX in all recorded apparitions is shown to be occupied and driven by a humanoid entity coined SCP-XXXX-1. The entity is shown to appear completely human in physical features but it unknown whether the being is sentient. Witness accounts vary on the appearance of SCP-XXXX with some subjects even doubting the presence of a driver when questioned.
The anomaly has often been seen to drive through mostly rural but also urban areas throughout the UK despite the Routemaster only being in use in London. It is mostly non-confrontational as the majority reports state it being seen from late evening to early morning.
Testimonials suggest it is mostly seen stopping in nonsensical spots and opening its side doors but nothing entering nor exiting the bus when stationary. It may stay in this state for seconds or even hours but when SCP-XXXX becomes aware of human presence it will immediately begin to flee.
Incident-XXXX-Alpha: At approximately 0200 hours on ██/█/20██ a member of the public contacted authorities, filing a complaint regarding a Routemaster bus fitting the description of SCP-XXXX. Subject stated the vehicle had been idling outside her residence for over 3 hours. The phone transmission was tapped and received by security staff at Site-21 and field agents were immediately deployed to the location of the sighting. When agents arrived on scene the manifestation fled at a high rate of speed and chase was initiated. After pursuing SCP-XXXX for approximately 56 seconds Agent [Redacted] lost control of his vehicle and the chase was called off. After the incident dash cam footage from all vehicles involved was reviewed but all recordings since the initial sighting where deleted. It is unknown whether the crash was because of interference from the anomaly as all agents involved have forgotten most information regarding the encounter under mysterious circumstances. After review of situation SCP-XXXX has been upgraded to high-priority due to the nature of the case.
Incident-XXXX-Bravo (Subject Testimony): Citizen [Redacted] boarded an instance of SCP-XXXX, unbeknownst of its anomalous nature. Upon boarding he recounts taking a seat on the upper floor of the bus but could not recall details of the driver nor any fellow passengers. Subject recollects using a cellular device for the majority of the journey, but upon glancing out the window could only see a 'deep void', which after intense questioning, he was not able to elaborate upon. 19 hours later local law enforcement received a missing persons report detailing a young man last seen leaving his house for his commute, but Police inquiries into the disappearance were unsuccessful. The next recorded sighting was 6 years later where the subject was seen at the aforementioned bus stop, malnourished and unconscious. Upon discovery, local field agents notified the Foundation due to the similarities to SCP-XXXX and questioning ensued at Outpost-███.
