Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be placed in a standard VHS player in a secure holding cell at site 17. Security clearance one (1) is required for any testing of SCP-XXXX and approved by level two (2) or higher.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a common VHS cassette manufactured between 19██-20██. SCP-XXXX's anomaly is activated when an individual inserts SCP-XXXX into any standard VHS player. When connected to any television set SCP-XXXX will display a video on the screen. The video contains a fictional historical event. The videos contain dubbed over commentary from an unknown female individual narrating the scene shown, So far efforts to find out to the woman identity have been proven unsuccessful. A date can be seen at the bottom left-hand corner of every video. However, After any individual watches the entirety of the video the individual will believe that the event had truly occurred and that the subject had witnessed the event first hand. The subject will attempt to convince other individuals of the authenticity of the video.
SCP-XXXX was found in the abandoned ██████ Library in Ontario Canada. SCP-XXXX was located in the flooded basement under a pile of old history books. SCP-XXXX had been held in a wooden lockbox for an indeterminate amount of time. The history books covering SCP-XXXX were found to hold events that have been noted to taking place on SCP-XXXX. It is unclear if someone had rewritten the books to include events seen on SCP-XXXX or if SCP-XXXX had somehow affected them.
Addendum:As of █/█/████ seventy-seven (77) unique videos have been shown appearing on SCP-XXXX. Videos and shown have included.
- A ceremony displaying two(2) middle-aged men wearing fine clothes sighing what appears to be a peace treaty of sorts. (3/12/15██)
- A fleet of sailing ships presumed to be that of English making sailing to a large landmass covered in large pillar-like objects. (9/2/14██)
- A Battle being fought In an ice-covered field in what is believed to be in northern Greenland. (10/23/18██)
- A set of eight (8) warheads aiming for the southern Floridian Peninsula. (4/24/19██)
Note: Due to an unknown reason SCP-XXXX's item class will be upgraded to Euclid. It appears SCP-XXXX's effect has started to spread as individuals who have not viewed SCP-XXXX or spoken to an individual affected by SCP-XXXX have begun to believe in some events shown on SCP-XXXX. It is unknown if other instances of SCP-XXXX exist or if the effect is somehow spreading. The individuals that have been affected are to be detained and amnesticized.
