This is were my ideas get drafted
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be stored at Site-5, in a 1.20-by-1.20-by-1.20 meters box made out of lead 25 millimeters thick. The container must be filled with 1,728 liters of water at all times. Due to SCP-XXXX abnormal effects the water must be refilled at 12-hour intervals. The speakers in the containment cell must play positive music at all times, music can be requested and then reviewed by foundation phycologists for positive messages and themes. Personnel are not allowed without permission to be in 25-Meters of SCP-XXXX containment cell. To be gain permission, personal must not have any negatively affecting mental health issues and have and Stress Index of less than 75.
Description:
SCP-XXXX resembles a hair comb, around 152.4 millimeters in length and 25.4 millimeters in width. SCP-XXXX has no branding on it's surface and several chips and scratches. SCP-XXXX appears to be made of 88% Polyvinyl Chloride and 12% of chemicals of unknown composition. The unknown chemicals have the most similarities with Tennessee. Both have the same mass, density, and ionization energy.
SCP-XXXX's abnormal effect is it's ability to turn emotional states in to radiation, of either ionizing or thermal depending on the emotional state. Negative emotional states including apathy, grief, fear, hatred, shame, blame, regret, anger, and de lead to ionizing radiation usually in the Gamma regions, but on occasion has produced X-Rays, and significant amount of free neutrons. This has led researchers to speculate that due to Tennessee's ionization energy1 of 7.7eVs is how SCP-XXXX can create high energy ionizing radiation. SCP-XXXX can also react to media that includes characters with negative emotional states or themes or plots that include negative emotions.
SCP-XXXX can also interact with positive emotional states as happiness, interest, joy, hope, empathy, curiosity ,and euphoria. These lead to an increase of thermal radiation, the amount depending on the emotional states intensity. Similarly to its interaction to negative emotional media, SCP-XXXX can interact with media with positive emotional states that include characters with positive emotional states or themes or plots that include positive emotions.
Addendum-Discovery:
SCP-XXXX was discovered by foundation agents in Tulsa, Oklahoma after incident 87-A occurred. Incident 87-A occurred at 4-05-84, when married couple, Scott and Mary Westerdam, became arguing about Mary Westerdam's hair dryer. Scott Westerdamn who was using SCP-XXXX as a hair comb, became so agitated that he triggered SCP-XXXX, producing high energy X-Rays. Which survivor Robert Westerdam (Amnesticized after interview with foundation personal) said, briefly turned the whole house temporarily transparent. All individuals in a 4-Meter radius were instantly killed of serious radiation sickness. Upon discovery of the radioactive fallout generated by SCP-XXXX, MTF Beta-7 was dispatched. The house was extremely radioactive until destroyed by MTF Beta-7 The neighborhood was amnesticized and the cover story of a gas explosion was encouraged. The local newspaper staff that reported the event were amnestied and the story altered(the . The local university was searched for SCP-XXXX, and all personnel of the university were amnesticized.
Nuclear Fallout in Tulsa ?
Today in Tulsa the background radiation went up by 67% university expert. Professor Spengler weighs in "Usually in Tulsa and everywhere for that matter, the radiation level is 3.10 millisieverts a year. But today it jumped to around 5.07 millisieverts in only our area." The source of the radiation is unknown , but Prof. Spengler believe it to be a massive solar flare from space. Other residents remain unconvinced. Robert Westerdam believes it to be the fault of
his parents failing marriage. "So they started bickering again, so I left the house to get away from it." Robert continues, " All of a sudden there was this big explosion and the house became transparent I could see right through it ! Then I knew it was bad after the cat, mailman, and my parents dropped dead. They all looked burned, but there was no fire just a burst of light, so it has to be radiation."
As outlandish as this story seems, there is some truth to it all people in 16 meters of this house are dead. The local police force brought along Geiger counters and found the house to be extremely dangerous. The source it would seem is a ordinary hair comb, when measured it overloaded the Geiger counter. Prof. Spengler says "The comb would seem to be the source or radiation, it is an interesting anomaly due to the fact it raised the background radiation from one explosion. I shall be studying it in depth in the lab." The town of Tulsa has never seem an weirder event since the Blast of '83. The Blast of '83 is on page A14
Test XXXX-A - Date12/08/84
Subject: D-8989, and D-9523 and SCP-XXXX.
Procedure:D-8989 and D-9523 watched a video of dogs and cats playing around.
Results: SCP-XXXX over the course of 15 seconds, heated up to 115 degrees Celsius. SCP-XXXX then fused itself to the table it was placed on, and took two hours to remove.
Test XXXX-B - Date12/09/84
Subject: D-3008 and SCP-XXXX.
Procedure: D-3008 was given a Canis Lupus Familiars,2 and was told to torture it as inhumane and cruel as possible. It should be noted that D-3008 was crying the whole length of the procedure.
Results: SCP-XXXX emitted 3 Sieverts of radiation. All individuals were instantly killed of severe radiation poisoning , the test was aborted after.
Test XXXX-C - Date12/10/84
Subject: An MP3 player and SCP-XXXX.
Procedure: The MP3 player was set up in a room with SCP-XXXX. The song “Desperado” by Eagles
Results:SCP-XXXX over the course of 5 minutes emitted 1.5 micro Sieverts and emitted Cherenkov radiation similar to human tears.
Test XXXX-D - Date12/10/84__
Subject: An MP3 player and SCP-XXXX
Procedure: The MP3 player was set up in a room with SCP-XXXX. The song “Here Comes the Sun” by George Harrison.
Results: SCP-XXXX over the course of 2 seconds, heated up to 200 degrees Celsius, it was almost able to melt through the metal table SCP-XXXX placed on.
