Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept within a 0.3m by 0.2m by 0.1m container, with the lid secured at all times outside of testing. No electronic devices are to be allowed within 10 meters of SCP-XXXX other than for testing purposes.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a collection of wires of various lengths, the shortest measuring 1 meter and the longest surpassing 3 meters. Instances of SCP-XXXX resemble Non-Metallic Sheathed wires, with the inside containing bare copper wire. Either end of SCP-XXXX has A type connectors resembling most modern connectors of the same type. The object is assumed to be partially sentient as SCP-XXXX’s ends will physically shift to match any input given to it, though it will not transmit any signal or electricity.
When active, The object’s main anomalous properties occur when a person attempts to step over it, where it will immediately wrap itself around the subject’s ankle and become taut in attempt to trip the subject. SCP-XXXX does not exert force in its attempts, so tripping is easily avoidable through careful movements.
Addendum XXXX-01: Discovery
Instances of SCP-XXXX were first discovered at Site-██ during testing of SCP-████, when researchers tripped on wires that should have otherwise been secured out of the way. Further observation confirmed SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties and they were contained soon after. Instances of SCP-XXXX seem to manifest in larger cities, mainly ███████, Illinois, ███████, New York and █████████, Nevada. The manufacturer of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown, though investigation is underway.
Incident XXXX-A
Date: ██/16/201█
