Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a guarded area of no less than half a kilometre by half a kilometre (500 metres x 500 metres). All staff are to wear ear protection between the hours of 21:00 and 04:55. All staff not seen wearing ear protection are to be reported and may be sentenced by a tribunal of officials for gross negligence depending on the severity of the report. All traffic within two kilometres is to be diverted away from the sight due to the effects of SCP-XXXX. All public sea maps of the area must show a large cluster of dangerous rocks so as to divert marine traffic. Anyone seen wandering within the half kilometre perimeter should be captured and interrogated. The use of amnesics or permanent termination is to be decided by the highest-ranking official on the base.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a translucent-green supernatural figure of a caucasian man in traditional Scottish Highland wear playing a currently unknown piece on a set of bagpipes. The figure is roughly 1.75 metres (5’ 9”) tall. SCP-XXXX is located at the ████████ Cliffside, Scotland. SCP-XXXX was found by the foundation on the 15th of July,1968, after local reports of disappearances. SCP-XXXX is active between the aforementioned hours of 21:00 and 04:55 without fail.

Between these hours, SCP-XXXX will play a piece of music on its Bagpipes that, if listened, will put the listener into a deep state of hypnosis. The hypnotised listener will then walk towards SCP-XXXX while ignoring anything in its path. If anyone or anything attempts to obstruct the hypnotized listener, the listener’s muscles to be stimulated aggressively, causing the limbs to flail until the obstruct is defeated or the listener dies of their injuries.

If the listener reaches SCP-XXXX, the listener will then jump off the cliff to their death, all while screaming. It is unknown whether they regain consciousness. So far, 7 class-D personnel have been subjected to SCP-XXXX for experimentation. Before the perimeter was established, 278 corpses had been found in varying states of decomposition and in clothes that would match an array of decades. Skeletal remains have been found with much wearing centuries-old clothing. One skeleton was found near traditional Viking clothing. The clothes have now been kept within the private archives of Glasgow based █████████████████.

Addendum: Despite the vast majority of people jumping to their death, one person was spared by SCP-XXXX. On the 17th of March, 1971, a young woman named ██████████ somehow slipped through the guarded perimeter completely unseen. When she reached SCP-XXXX, she collapsed dangerously close to the edge. The foundation detained her at 05:05. She died five minutes later, all while yelling “Èist”, the Scottish Gaelic word for “listen”.
