Instance of SCP-XXXX in ███████, New Jersey, photographer shortly lost all sense of touch after taking the photograph.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept within a 150x150x150 centimeter room composed entirely of two centimeter thick concrete at all times. No contact at any time should be made with SCP-XXXX. Annually, on the seventh of October, SCP-XXXX appears outside of its containment cell and in a random city in the state of New Jersey in the United States of America. When such an event occurs any containment teams stationed in the state of New Jersey are told to search for SCP-XXXX and in the next month of searching SCP-XXXX is eventually put back into containment.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small sign exactly one meter in height which has a randomly chosen word showing one of the five senses written on it. Throughout the day SCP-XXXX shifts to display a different one of the senses. Any individual can view SCP-XXXX through a photograph or a live camera and not be affected.
When any individual looks upon SCP-XXXX they lose whichever of the five senses is written on it within the next hour of viewing SCP-XXXX. The loss of a sense is permanent unless the victim is treated with a single dosage of SCP-500. There is no valid reason why a victim of SCP-XXXX is cured by SCP-500 seeing as the effects of SCP-XXXX are not diseases, the subject requires further testing.
The first instance of SCP-XXXX can be traced back to the early 1900s which caused many recorded cases of random loss of touch and cases of blindness with unknown origin. Through extensive research on SCP-XXXX, it appears that its effects are only temporary when the subject is to touch SCP-XXXX but not look directly at it. The same temporary effect has to do with smell. SCP-XXXX reeks a foul odour only described as a rotting corpse. When an individual smells such an odour, they immediately lose the sense written on SCP-XXXX at that time. The amount of time when the effect is temporary can vary between seven minutes and seven days. SCP-XXXX effects can only affect an individual once and never can again. So if the effects of SCP-XXXX are treated, then that individual who underwent treatment can look upon SCP-XXXX and not receive its effects the same is applied to people suffering temporary effects.
