Item number: SCP-4537
Object class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: There is currently no plausible way to contain SCP-4537, as call locations and origins seem to be generated at random, and no methods to predict coming locations of SCP-4537 have been calculated. All US bank calling systems are to be constantly monitored for irregular calls featuring multiple "real people (as stated in recorded calls)". All irregularities are to be reported to specialized tech experts at Site-15. The stated calls must be corrupted with the on-site call interceptor using methods such as remotely hanging up, muting, and distorting. In the event that an undetected call manages to infect a human, a few members of MTF Kappa-10 will be tasked with locating and neutralizing the subject, as well as giving amnesics to their family and friends. A cover story should be generated to cover the "disappearance" of the subject infected.
Description: SCP-4537 is a technological "infection" which corrupts US bank calls with a number of automated answering machines. It is capable of turning any human into a form of AI programming, and causes the victims' speech, movements, and other bodily functions to act heavily automated while remaining biologically human.
Note: As of 12/8/18, it is estimated that around 800 people have been affected, all of which have been located and terminated. A total of around 4000 call manifestations have been logged. Most have been canceled.
SCP-4537's call sequence seems to only be able to affect humans directly hearing it from a phone, which allows recording of calls to be made. (See Addendum 4537-1 for a transcript of an SCP-4537 call.)
