Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature and location of SCP-XXXX, containment is largely unnecessary. MTF Gamma-7 ("Spacewalkers") has set up an outpost on SCP-XXXX for the purpose of
Description: SCP-XXXX is a large, uninhabited stone castle located at where the "Big Bang" was determined to have originated approximately ███ billion light years away from Earth.
Recovered Artifacts
SCP-XXXX-1
A large leather-bound tome measuring 10 cm tall, 28cm long, and 16 cm wide. Due to the anomalous properties of the tome, counting the number of pages in a safe and accurate manner was not feasible. During experiment XXXX-16, D-6740, a former robotics engineer, proposed that the number of pages be counted by use of a device which instead of cameras, which proved unsuccessful in avoiding the anomalous effects of observing SCP-XXXX-1, that sensitive microswitches be used to detect when a new page was moved, and simply count the number of changes, the page count was confirmed to be 1,588.
SCP-XXXX-2
Item #: SCP-????
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-???? is to be kept in a standard Safe-class storage locker at Site-64, powered off, with the 9-volt battery removed to prevent potential leakage and corrosion.
Description: SCP-???? is a heavily modified Weatheralert TA-20 radio manufactured at some point from 1980 to 1989. Despite these internal modifications, no reason for SCP-????'s anomalous behavior has been discovered.
Visible modifications include:
1.)
2.)
When powered on, SCP-???? continually plays audio belonging to the Bob and Kurtz Weather Channel, which is currently defunct. However, SCP-???? will receive recordings from the Bob and Kurtz Weather Channel created in 1981. No devices capable of storing these recordings has been discovered inside of SCP-????, ruling out the possibility that it is simply playing pre-recorded audio.
It is of note that standard Weatheralert model TA-20 weather radios contain a 16.2020UNI crystal oscillator. The crystal oscillator in SCP-???? has been removed altogether, replaced with a 20-gauge wire that bridges the two solder pads where the crystal oscillator is normally located.
Before 09/12, SCP-???? will play audio consistent with the Bob and Kurtz Weather Channel on the same day, in the year of 1981. However, beginning on 09/12, several deviations have been noted in SCP-????'s audio playback, often referencing non-existent events.
SCP-???? came into Foundation possession on 12/07/2004 when Foundation agent ██████ was browsing a pawn shop in Spokane, Washington looking to buy a new personal handgun. On his way out, he noticed SCP-???? in a glass case. Upon seeing it, agent ██████ asked the owner of the pawn shop what it was out of curiosity. The owner was unable to provide any origin of the object. Agent ██████ purchased SCP-???? for 15 USD.
SCP-????'s anomalous properties were not discovered until it powered on by Agent ██████, who noticed significant deviations in the weather reported by SCP-???? and the actual weather. During questioning, the owner of the pawn shop was unable to provide the origin of the object.
Addendum: Audio Log ????-Alpha
Note: This is an abridged version of Audio Log ????-Alpha. Level 2/???? personnel may access the unabridged version in Document ????-Null-7.
Date: 01/01/1981
Bob: Hello there, everybody. This is Bob Heisen and Kurtz Smith, with another installment of the Bob and Kurtz Weather Channel.
Kurtz: First of all, let me be the first to wish a Happy New Years to everybody.
Bob: That's right, Kurtz. Happy New Year.
Kurtz: Today in New Caulde, USA, we're expecting snow, snow, and more snow.
