Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6002 is to be kept within an airtight 20-meter by 20-meter by 10-meter room. The containment entrance is to be guarded by 2 members of the Security Department possessing Level-4 or higher. The containment chamber may only be accessed upon approval of the acting Site Director, the acting Project Leader, and the 2 on-post security personnel. At no time may any personnel come in to contact with SCP-6002 unless authorized by the Project Leader for research purposes only. Janitorial personnel may be drawn from the ranks of current Level-1, and are to be kept in isolation and granted 4/6002 clearance. An observation window is to be connected to the viewing lobby and cleaned on a bi-daily basis. Should the Project Leader deem it necessary, the observation window cleaning schedule may be adjusted.
Description: SCP-6002 is a cubical oak wood box with an inscription on the bottom reading “SFRI Industries Inc.” SCP-6002 levitates in the air about 1 meter off any surface that exerts a normal force. SCP-6002 does not appear to affect any entity that comes in contact with it.1 4 days after any physical contact with SCP-6002, any breathable air within a 10 by 10 by 2-meter radius of SCP-6002 will become toxic and lethal. Any organism that inhales the surrounding air will be poisoned and eventually die after 23 seconds. SCP-6002 will return to normal after 5 minutes of releasing the gas. It takes approximately 37 seconds to turn the surrounding air into the converted lethal toxic gas as mentioned before.
Addendum 6002.1: Andrew Wiltz suddenly collapsed on the floor exactly 96 hours and 59 seconds after D-9114 touched SCP-6002. Andrew Wiltz is confirmed deceased.
Addendum 6002.2: Shortly after the events described in Addendum 6002.1, the Intelligence Agency required that there be 2 security department personnel at all times. Information the Intelligence Agency also gathered is that the late Andrew Berten Wiltz was a member of the 6002 Janitorial Detail, but was only granted Level-3, a violation of containment procedures. After further investigation, the Intelligence Agency uncovered that the acting Project Leader, Dr. Remerez Linn, a Level-5 Senior Researcher within the Scientific Department, had authorized the induction of Andrew Wiltz into the detail, but had no brief organized for him. It is suspected that the primary reasons would be either conflict between the two individuals, or human error to an extreme degree. Dr. Linn was demoted from his position as Project Leader but retained his Level-5 security clearance by the order of [REDACTED].
