Keter
SCP-XXXX is currently housed in Area 02. SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 50 by 50 by 25 metre containment cell, with walls no thinner than 25 centimetres, with an identical cell below, which is to be sealed shut. The entrance to the cell containing it is to be guarded by a minimum of 4 security officers at all times. There is a strict limit of 3 persons (with a total weight of no more than 350kg) to be allowed within the cell containing SCP-XXXX at any time. Any larger scale experiments must be first be submitted to the site director, and signed off by 2 lead researchers, with a minimum of 7 days notice to allow for proper evacuation of any potentially affected areas, see appendix XXXX-01 for an overview of large scale experiment security measures.
SCP-XXXX must be kept in the exact centre of it's storage cell with 3 concentric rings around it: red at a distance of 10 metres, orange at a distance of 25 metres, and yellow at a distance of 35 metres, See amendment XXXX-02 for updated cell layout after incident XXXX-03 resulting in the deaths of xx D-class staff.
SCP-XXXX is a stone carving of a human heart impaled on three thin spits forming a tripod, supporting the bulk of SCP-XXXX. The heart portion of SCP-XXXX has a diameter of approximately 1 metre, the spits have a diameter of approximately 10 centimetres, and the main body of SCP-XXXX is suspended approximately 1.40 metres above the ground. SCP-XXXX has the appearance of polished basalt with characters from several languages (some of which are unknown) carved over its surface. See appendix XXXX-04 for a full list of languages shown on SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX has the ability to forcibly rip the hearts of its victims and then draw the heart into one of the blood vessels never to be seen again. Experimentation has shown that SCP-XXXX's influence can only be exerted on living mammal subjects (see appendix XXXX-05 for full experimental overview) within its sphere of influence. SCP-XXXX's initial sphere of influence is approximately 10 metres from the centre of the body of SCP-XXXX, however its sphere of influence has been discovered to increase after each successive victim (see appendix XXXX-06 for updated experimental overview) and has been postulated as the reason for the majority of the incidents involving SCP-XXXX. Unfortunately SCP-XXXX has also exhibited signs of sentience, resulting in its classification of keter. SCP-XXXX has shown that it has the ability to entice victims to enter its sphere of influence through multiple means (see appendix XXXX-07 for a list of observed tactics of enticement) for example staff have heard faint voices emanating from inside SCP-XXXX and have observed SCP-XXXX exuding "gold" which upon collection and analysis was shown to be little more than iron pyrite (fool's gold). Finally SCP-XXXX has also shown, what can only be described as hunger. If SCP-XXXX has not claimed a victim in 7 days it will begin to increase it's efforts to entice staff into its sphere of influence, for example security staff have heard screams coming from the containment cell, even when deserted, and SCP-XXXX apparently disappearing from surveillance. If SCP-XXXX still hasn't claimed another victim in the following 7 days, it shall increase its sphere of influence until it reaches a viable target to kill, the sphere of influence still increases and decreases at normal rates. (see appendix XXXX-08 for re-updated security protocols).
Word of SCP-XXXX reached agents in Sicily after a series of disappearances at an archeological dig. When the agents arrived at the dig site, the only surviving members of the dig were the chief archaeologist and his assistant. The archaeologist and his assistant were debriefed and amnesthetics were administered. An agent and 2 D-class personnel were sent to investigate the area where the disappearances occurred. However when none of the party returned after 1 hour, the team leader reviewed the agent's mobile observation camera and first saw SCP-XXXX, upon seeing the effect of SCP-XXXX on the initial agent and D-class =, he contacted the local foundation base and requisitioned a U.A.V (unmanned acquisition vehicle) and acquired SCP-XXXX with little difficulty.
