Special Containment Procedures
SCP-XXXX is to be stored within a standard Lyra Travel Case and maintained within Storage Unit 43B in Site-17’s Storage Wing. Under no circumstances are personnel with Level 2 Clearance and lower allowed to handle SCP-XXXX, unless a request to handle or research SCP-XXXX is approved by Research Head ████████████. SCP-XXXX is to be routinely managed to prevent unnecessary aging of the item, with its structure routinely polished and the strings routinely changed. If SCP-XXXX begins to show signs of aging or ware, the item is to be taken to a standard instrument repair shop to prevent the aging of SCP-XXXX.
Personnel with a Level 4 Clearance or lower are not permitted to observe the addendums below, as it pertains to ██████████████ involving ████████,██████████████, and ████████████. If viewing the addendums below to understand SCP-XXXX, a Level 5 Viewing Request must be sent and permitted to view a redacted version of the addendum of interest. Information also pertaining to ███████ and ████████ cannot be accessed unless one has a Level 4 Clearance or higher, and if so they must have a Level 5 Viewing Request sent and permitted to view a redacted version of the file.
Information obtained from ███████, █████████, ██████████, or ████████████ must be reported to Research Head ████████████ for ███████████████████████.
Description
SCP-XXXX is a formerly anomalous weapon that takes the form of a 61cm x 51cm x 11.4cm (24 inch x 20 inch x 4.5 inches) modern rendition of an Ancient Greek Lyra, with all anomalous abilities of SCP-XXXX being neutralized in █/█/2021. SCP-XXXX is constructed with a mahogany frame, redwood bridge, oak wood string saddle, standard nylon strings, aluminum tuning pegs, and two metallic pegs on the back of the Lyra to allow a form of shoulder strap to be connected to the instrument. SCP-XXXX appears to be constructed using standard wooden instrument materials, with no evidence of anomalous materials or additions found within or on the instrument. SCP-XXXX has a total of 40 strings, each individual string tuned half a step up from one another, with the lowest step being an E1 note. SCP-XXXX also has a carved hole in the middle of its body as a form of acoustics for sound to reverberate out of, with the hole being carved into the shape of an apostrophe or teardrop.
SCP-XXXX use to have two unique and interconnected anomalous abilities that have been observed by the Foundation, both were effectively used by ███████. After █████████████, it has been noted that ██████████ used █████████████ to effectively embed these anomalous traits within the instrument. It is also noted that ██████████ made SCP-XXXX as ████████████████████.
The first ability is observed when the user revolves the instrument 180 degrees counterclockwise along its base, in which the instrument will manifest a temporal riff and cause the instrument to enter the riff, with a new instrument exiting the temporal riff and into either the lap or region in front of the user. The instrument that manifests out of the temporal riff tends to be dependent on what the user is thinking of, whether to use an instrument for telepathic communication or if the user plans to use an instrument as a form of weaponry.
The second ability involves the several instruments that SCP-XXXX can generate from the temporal riff described in the previous section. Each instrument that SCP-XXXX manifests has a unique and anomalous ability that allows SCP-XXXX to be used as a multi-purpose device. These uses can either effect the user, individuals around the user, machinery near the user, or even plant-based life around the user.
