Item #: SCP-5161

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5161 is held within a 7 m x 7 m x 5.6 m containment cell within Area-█ on Site-██. Temperatures within 5161's cell are to remain between 12° and 16° C at constant. Cell divisions must consist of either concrete or fiberglass reaching at least five inches in width. SCP-5161 must be monitored and tracked at all times by either drones, security cameras, etc. Surveillance animatronics are to be sent into SCP-5161's cell daily, and must take a form similar to either small lizards or insects until further notice. Staff must be accompanied by at least one other individual before entering SCP-5161's cell, and must carry a radio with them at all times. At least one member of military staff must accompany all that enter 5161's cell unless instructed otherwise by a qualified authority. Level 3 authorization or higher is mandatory for staff to enter SCP-5161's cell, along with at least one individual possessing a firearm and radio.

All surveillance footage of SCP-5161 is to be quickly turned in to Dr. ██████ effective immediately after retrieval. Models relating to foxes or rodents are to no longer be used on surveillance animatronics around SCP-5161 {See Case-5161-11}

Note: Abnormal sounds have been heard from SCP-5161's containment cell since its arrival between the following times; 11:00pm - 12:00am, and 3:00am - 4:00am. DO NOT ENTER SCP-5161'S CONTAINMENT CELL DURING ANY OF THESE TIMES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. (Investigations are in pending.)

Description: SCP-5161 is a large statue with a distinctively close resemblance to the northeastern coyote (Subspecies Canis latrans thamnos). The asset is roughly 1.7 meters in height when in its dormant pose, and 1.5 meters when standing upright. Though its exact manufacturer currently remains elusive, extensive study is being made to identify 5161's sculptor. Such evidence has been identified by the small engraving located inside SCP-5161's mouth that reads in small writing "Are We Cool Yet?". The material making up 5161 has chemical properties similar to titanium or ceramic, though its appearance is similar to bronze, and has been currently deemed unidentified. SCP-5161 is known to move only when a person's eye contact has been divided from it for approximately 0.99 seconds, as proven in multiple tests. The entity has shown to affect the neural cavities of the human brain in a 3-meter radius around the asset, and affects the ocular organs. Experimentation has been made to discover the cause of SCP-5161's affect on human vision, though the results have been negative. (Experimentation still in progress.) Asset is often hostile to humans, and will move only when one approaches within sight, smell, or hearing distance of 5161. (Asset remains inactive until provoked by species pertaining to homo sapiens.) SCP-5161's eyes alternate between yellow and red, and become luminescent when active. Any activity made by SCP-5161 must be logged and monitored.

SCP-5161 has proven to be highly intelligent on numerous occasions, and is capable of opening and closing doors. As a result, the asset is to be kept within a room possessing airlocked doors for effective containment. 5161 is also deemed hyper-aggressive, and any individual entering its containment cell must possess a firearm and a radio for safety reasons. SCP-5161 is capable of passing through most kinds of glass and plastic, with the exception of fiberglass. The asset has been observed moving roughly 6.8 meters in two seconds of divided eye contact.

Note: Blackouts are to be expected in SCP-5161's cell, particularly in video footage. (Currently under investigation.)

Addendum 5161.1: Recovery

SCP-5161 was discovered in an abandoned museum in middle-eastern Utah by ████ ████████ on ██/█/███. A considerable number of individuals were reported missing within the radius of 5161's discovery site approximately two months and thirteen days before the entity's reported discovery. Multiple attempts were made to successfully capture and contain the asset until it was finally contained and transported to its current containment cell six weeks later.
