SCP - 5426 “Rune Witch”

Special Containment Procedures: Subject is to be confined in cell at all times. Cell is to be fitted with basic necessities including one cot, one oak desk and one oak chair. Subject is to be monitored at all times by no fewer than two (Heterosexual) female guards. Subject is typically not hostile during the first 5 months of it’s cycle. However, after 5 months have passed Subject will begin to develop serious Bipolar issues and any communication must be done through the glass window facing the cell and is to be only carried out by female (heterosexual) researchers.
ADDENDUM 1:
Every eight months one CLASS-D (Heterosexual Male) is to be brought into the containment chamber and left alone with SCP-5426. Subject will begin to converse with CLASS-D and will continue to do so for anywhere between thirty minutes to six hours. After a period of time, Subject will begin to reveal the runes on its arms before slowly disrobing and revealing the runes on the rest of its body. Upon seeing the Runes, CLASS-D will enter a euphoric state and will quickly become enthralled to the subjects will. After the Runes have been revealed, subject will take CLASS-D in it’s arms, placing one hand on the face of the CLASS-D. Subject will then proceed to pull a mist-like substance from the mouth of CLASS-D While red engravings slowly appear on the chest of CLASS-D, resulting in the termination of said CLASS-D. The substance pulled from the victims mouth is still unknown, but it is commonly believed to be the soul of the victim.
After termination, SCP-5426 will begin to enter a severe state of guilt and will cease all communication for several days. During this period subject will often be found weeping or sitting with its hands covering its face and is not to be disturbed during this time period. After several days SCP-5426 will return to its original state and become cooperative for the next 5-7 months.
ADDENDUM 2: Both guards and researchers are to be alternated every two months to prevent psychological damage and the exertion of influence by SCP-5426. In addition, any researcher who views the markings on SCP-5426 while in an agitated state is to be removed from the project immediately and receive a full psychological diagnosis.
Description: SCP-5426 Possesses the appearance of a beautiful woman in her late twenties, although its age is believed to be 1343 years old. Subject is of a slender build, standing five feet and ten inches with dark brown hair and red eyes. The most notable feature of SCP-5426 are the markings coating the vast majority of her body. These markings are always red, but alter from dark red to bright red depending on the mood of subject. These markings are similar in appearance to old norse Runes and cover her entire body with the exception of her feet, hands, neck and head.
The origin of these markings is unknown as subject has refused to speak on them, but researchers have confirmed SCP-5426 is able to use these markings to influence the minds and wills of anyone it comes into contact with. While SCP-5426 is able to influence anyone if given the opportunity. Her abilities seem to have less severe effects on female foundation members resulting in refined containment procedures.
SCP-5426 Has expressed knowledge in many European languages and is fluent in Russian, English, French, German, Polish, Greek and Latin although she generally prefers to converse in Russian.
When asked about her nature, SCP-5426 has replied that it does not wish to hurt anyone, rather that it has no choice. SCP-5426 has stated it must continue to harvest victims in order to control itself and that the Runes it bares must be fed in order to be controlled, or else they will begin to control her. When researchers denied SCP-5426!a victim for a prolonged period of time. (17 months) its mood became permanently dark and increasingly violent. SCP-5426 began to constantly attempt to enthrall researchers who came into contact with her, resulting in increased containment procedures (See ADDENDUM 2.) Any efforts to communicate with SCP-5426 were met with severe violence. After 12 months the runes began to glow a blood red and after 13 months every researcher that had come into contact with it began to demand it take another victim. At 16 months SCP-5426 began to scream periodically, demanding another victim be delivered. At this point, SCP-5426 was placed in a straight jacket, preventing it from revealing its runes, however after several hours the fabric began to decay rapidly and she was able to release herself. Guards were alternated every two days to prevent psychological damage and every researcher that attempted to communicate with it also demanded she be delivered another victim. Researchers claim they could hear her speaking to them even after being removed from the project and that she would constantly visit them in their dreams or cause daily sleep paralysis.
Finally, after 17 months Project Leader REDACTED agreed to deliver her another victim. SCP-5426 Harvested the victim within minutes of it entering the cell, before becoming guilt ridden once more
It is believed that SCP-5426 could be terminated if necessary as she has shown signs of injury and physical pain. However, subject possesses the ability to heal at four times the pace of the average human. It is believed the markings on her give her this ability.
SCP-5426 Generally does not resist foundation staff if provided with a victim every eight months. When asked why it remains cooperative it has stated it does not wish to harm anyone, but if left on it’s own it easily looses control. SCP-5426 has stated it is thankful for the foundations restrictions and claims they have saved many lives by containing her.
Discovery and Capture: Reports of SCP-5426!were originally recorded in 1992 in REDACTED, Russia Several miles outside REDACTED. The disappearances of dozens of hikers was brought to the attention of the foundation by Field Agent REDACTED which prompted an investigation. The only clue agents were able to discover were the pale corpses of several hikers left abandoned in the woods. Each of the corpses had several strange markings engraved on their bodies typically around the upper chest but aside from that, showed no signs of harm.
Upon discovery of the corpses, a secondary investigation was triggered and through the use of aerial surveillance, an isolated cabin was located in the heart of the woods. Mobile Task Force Unit Alpha 7 designated Raven’s breath was dispatched to investigate. Upon breaching the cabin they found a cloaked woman crying alone beside her bed. When asked if it knew anything about the disappearances, subject removed its cloak and revealed its runes to the agents. Subject did not resist capture and fully cooperated with agents.
