Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment cell. The blade of SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a containment locker in the cell to avoid unnecessary accidents. All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in separate standard containment cells (with the exception of SCP-XXXX-2) with constant monitoring of their vitals.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a typical guillotine used to behead criminals condemned to death. SCP-XXXX is presumed to have been built in the late 18th century or early 20th century considering the state of the overall structure as well as the material of the blade. No identifying markings are present to indicate the manufacturer or time of creation. The wooden body of SCP-XXXX seems to be made from maple and the blade from steel.
SCP-XXXX was recovered from a French town of ████████ on 23.03.1952 after it was used to decapitate a 25-year-old criminal condemned of murder by the name of ████ ███. Immediately after beheading, the subjects head vanished. The subjects body didn't show signs of bleeding nor even death despite seemingly being beheaded. The body, while being somehow still alive, was immobile and didn't react to outside stimulation. Foundation agents were sent to recover SCP-XXXX and the criminal's body now referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Interviewing locals didn't provide answers as no one seemed to have no knowledge to the origins of SCP-XXXX. It seemed as if SCP-XXXX had always been in the town. Amnestics were administered to the executioners and witnesses.
Numerous tests using SCP-XXXX have been performed. Tests have show that anything removed by SCP-XXXX from human subjects vanishes completely and without pain or any damage to the subject other than the loss of the portion removed. Test performed on inorganic, organic plant or animal subjects doesn't bring the same effect as human subjects and the seem to be ordinarily cut. reversing the blade on SCP-XXXX before testing has no effect on the end result. Using the blade on it's own or replacing the blade of SCP-XXXX with an ordinary guillotine blade to cut subjects doesn't provide the vanishing effect and causes typical harm to the subject. Partial and incomplete cuts provide typical wounds with no unnatural effects. Completing a partial cut vanishes the cut portion with injuries still present on the partial portion of the cut.
Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX-1 has been kept monitored in it's containment cell for over 60 years. SCP-XXXX-1's body hasn't shown any signs of aging and it's vitals haven't shown any significant changes over this time, with it's heart rate always staying between 50-60 and blood pressure in an almost constant 120/80. SCP-XXXX-1 doesn't require any sustenance nor does it produce any kind of waste. SCP-XXXX doesn't react to any kind of stimulation. Wounds inflicted on SCP-XXXX-1 heal over time at the rate of wounds on normal humans. More invasive test haven't been performed on SCP-XXXX-1 as the Foundation is curios to see how long it'll stay alive. Constant monitoring of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be continued and access to it's containment cell limited to research personnel only.
Addendum XXXX-2: Test subject is a D-class personnel. Test was performed using SCP-XXXX to cut the left hand of the subject from the wrist. After the initial cut the subjects hand instantly vanished causing no other harm or discomfort to the subject. Subject has no sensation when touching the area of air where it's hand used to be. Subject does occasionally report feeling a faint sensation on it's left hand despite it seemingly missing. Subject has described the sensations as almost unnoticeable temperature changes or as if it's touching running water. Wound on the subjects wrist doesn't bleed or get infected and it looks like a typical wrist with the hand cut off with bone and soft tissue showing. The wound can be touched and it causes pain on the subject when touched deeper than the wounds surface. Subject doesn't seem to be in any discomfort other than living without a left hand. Subject is not to be contained and every sensation it feels on it's missing left hand is to be logged with the time, duration and description of the sensation.
