Eeb1 - Bones

Description

  • Living bone anomaly
  • Burns through flesh and other living matter in attempts to find more bones to infect
  • If the bones are external, they will move slowly towards the closest living or dead animal and burn the flesh in an attempt to access its bones
  • How the bones move is currently unknown
  • Releases a virus-like entity to turn bones into more of SCP-XXXX
  • The entity seems to only affect bones
  • The entity has been noted to have airborne properties
  • Bone creatures are classified as living, virus entity unknown
  • Origin of vague organ-like structures inside is unknown
  • Doesn’t need food but does require oxygen; the primary source of nutrients
  • Bones in living creatures actively try to escape
  • Exoskeletons are not affected by the virus, but endoskeletons are
  • Attempts to stop the infection of bone have failed
  • Attempts to remove organs have been unsuccessful
  • Incineration was the earliest termination method discovered; happened after discovery
  • The virus anomaly slowly goes through flesh and seeks out bone over a long period of time
  • On average, bones will be infected and start incubation after a period of 24 hours
  • Within living subjects, symptoms of SCP-XXXX can show up as late as a week after initial contact, at which point the infected bones would have become mobile
  • Experiments with plant matter have not been conducted yet
  • Possible experiment of animal consuming fleshy parts of the bone
  • Subject’s teeth became infected, and subject vomited the now dead organs of the entity
  • If left in a locked box with enough bones, the bones will find a way to unlock and breach the box
  • Despite the lack of sensory organs, the bones seem to be attracted to loud or constant sounds.

Discovery

  • Found in the woods, bones formerly apart of a human and two dogs off of a local hiking trail
  • Found quite deep in the woods of [Algonquin Provincial Park] in Ontario, Canada
  • Found on June 15, 2015 (possibly change?)
  • Local hikers noticed a smell, found the husks of the subjects and their bones separated
  • Police were called and the foundation was notified (reports of the bones moving)
  • Foundation soldiers came and collected the bones; no-remembering juice was administered to every non-foundation persons involved
  • All soldiers that came into contact became infected; noticed only after complaints of itching and supposed movement of the skeleton
  • Soldiers quarantined and soon died after their skeletons escaped
  • Their bones moved like the initial discovery; bones moved with the rest
  • Emergency lockdown ensues, the theory of it being infection-like develops, and emergency decontamination of every place and every person that the soldiers were in contact with takes place. Thankfully, no further breach within the facility occurred.
  • After the foundation incident, controlled burning of the area where the bones were found and then some (will figure out exact measurements soon) under the cover story of a forest fire.

Additional Notes

  • I have plans for possible connections to another SCP idea (though not banking on it)
  • I have plans for sightings similar to the initial discovery
