SCP-XXX
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a hermetically sealed vacuumized acyrilic sphere 30cm in diameter. The sphere is to be placed in a 2x2x2m room on a 85cm high pedestal made of steel. The room is to be cooled to atleast 3,15K constantly. A live video video feed is required to monitor any possible movement of SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXX shares the appearance of Dendroctonus ponderosae (Mountain pine beetle). It measures 5mm and has a hard black exoskeleton and has 6 appendages.
SCP-XXX is able to consume matter of any kind, both organic and inorganic, down to a subatomical level. It has show to prefer organic matter, but will start to consume inorganic matter if no organic matter is to be found within the immediate vicinity of 1m.
While slow in consumtion speed, there are only few know methods to stop its feeding. Both absence of consumable matter and cooling down to near absolute zero have shown to be the only known methods at this point to effectively contain SCP-XXX.
Addendum XXX-01: SCP-XXXX was first discovered in 20XX. SCP-Personnel was first notified of its presence following a wildfire in XXXXX, US. It had survived the heat and was observed consuming ash and rocks at the sight. Local park rangers that approached SCP-XXX were immediately attacked and wounded. Amnestics were applied.
Addendum XXX-02: There is currently one known specimen of SCP-XXXX. It is in Foundation supervision.
[[I plan to add more addenda describing its consumption habits and effects on humans specifically. I also want to describe the effects of hazards such as fire on it.]
