Special Containment Procedures: Due to several complications presented by the nature of SCP-XYXY-1, the Foundation has found it impossible to render SCP-XYXY completely inoperable. As such, containment procedures mainly focus on preventing entry to SCP-XYXY. To this end, an extensive disinformation campaign citing renovations in SCP-XYXY's area, minimising the chances of civilians entering SCP-XYXY.

The Foundation IT department is to run routine identification checks on Foundation personnel at the fastest rate possible, so as to counteract espionage attempts from groups such as

SCP-XYXY exterior during daytime. This is the only known entrance.

Description: SCP-XYXY is a typical street store, known as "Monarch", located in █████, Wyoming. It is capable of selling social status for legal tender. This is done via a host of instantaneous, long-ranged memetic effects, most of them affecting memory.¹ It has also been concluded that many prominent individuals have made use of the services provided by SCP-XYXY.

SCP-XYXY-1 is the entity that acts as the main employee of SCP-XYXY. He has been described by most eye-witnesses to be roughly twenty years old, wearing a plain white T-shirt, tattered jeans and Nike shoes. Key features, such as hair and skin colour, change depending on the witness. SCP-XYXY-1 has often referenced an employer, which is refers to unenthusiastically as "Boss". Furthermore, it has referenced a parent company, but any attempts at gaining the information have been met with barbed and sarcastic responses. After eight hours of operation, SCP-XYXY-1 will spontaneously disappear from the SCP-XYXY premises, making apprehension impossible. Any attempt to apprehend SCP-XYXY-1 within SCP-XYXY invariably leads to the entity disappearing until the next work day begins. SCP-XYXY-1 has, on numerous occasions, expressed a desire for customers to not tell others of SCP-XYXY's existence, citing 'less work' as its main reason.

Addendum-XYXY.1:

Access Addendum

SCP-XYXY was discovered during a routine background check on lower-level Research staff.² Following a rigorous investigation, it was found that one Researcher Callahan had no background to speak of. He was known to be a competent and accomplished temporal anomaly expert, who had served the Foundation for more multiple decades. Despite this, no information regarding him was found in personnel records. He was immediately apprehended and questioned, during which he revealed the name of the store. Its location was found shortly afterwards. Callahan's origins are currently being researched.

Addendum-XYXY.2:

Access Addendum

Upon initial discovery of SCP-XYXY, Agents Monroe and Smith monitored the exterior of SCP-XYXY and those who entered it for a period of twenty-four (24) hours. Only three occurrences were recorded, none of which affected Foundation personnel. Proceeding identification of these individuals, they were brought into Foundation custody and interviewed. Some portions of the interview have been edited for ease of reading.

Occurrence 1 - 04/05/06

Subject: Jack Vanasek, sixteen (16) years old. Male.
Timeline: Jack Vanasek, henceforth designated Subject-01, is observed entering SCP-XYXY at 1853 hours, directly before SCP-XYXY becomes inoperable. After roughly four (4) minutes, he exits SCP-XYXY. Monroe and Smith continue observing him for roughly twenty (20) minutes as he moves towards an unknown destination. The destination is shortly thereafter revealed to be a non-anomalous house at 1919 hours.
Results: Subject-01 is seen being enthusiastically greeted by and entering the house of a previously unknown female. Later analysis found that she was considered a popular student at █████ High School. Subject-01 was amnesticised.³

Occurrence 2 - 07/5/06

Subject: Alfred Windsor, thirty-four (34) years old. Male.
Timeline: At 0813 hours, Alfred Windsor, henceforth designated Subject-02, was seen entering SCP-XYXY. Approximately thirty (30) minutes later, Subject-02 exited the premises. After ten (10) minutes of walking, Subject-02 arrived at █████ High School. Later analysis revealed he was a teacher.
Results: Subject-02 received large amounts of attention and friendly gestures from almost every student around him. They exhibited signs of genuine admiration, and other faculty appeared to act as old friends to Subject-02.

Occurrence 3 - 09/5/06

Subject: Isabel Minney, eighteen (18) years old. Female.
Timeline: At 1249 hours, an injured girl, henceforth designated Subject-03, limped into SCP-XYXY. Approximately twenty (20) minutes after entry, she exited SCP-XYXY, and proceeded to limp towards █████ High School.
Results: Many students clearly expressed fear and intimidation upon seeing her, most staying well out of her way. She disappeared into the school shortly afterwards.

Following 12/05/06, use of SCP-XYXY became more and more widespread, despite Foundation attempts to prevent such an outcome. The following are the most potent examples of SCP-XYXY use.

Subject-23 - 09/06/06

Subject Name: Alex Beilharz

Reputation: Well-known actor, starring in several critically acclaimed films, including ██████, ███ and ████. Despite original actors still being displayed in the movie and credits, the anomaly's effect remained unimpeded.

Foundation Response: Subject was apprehended and placed under Foundation custody. A misinformation campaign stating that Subject-23 would be on extended hiatus was released to the general public.

No interview was conducted for Subject-23.

Subject-57 - 24/6/06

Subject Name: Fergus Andrew

Reputation: World-renowned author, three-time winner of the Pulitzer fiction prize. Took credit for writing ████ ████, ███, ████ █ ███████ and many more prolific novels. Despite original author's names being displayed on the book covers, the anomaly's effect was unimpeded.

Foundation Response: Subject allowed to roam free, considering the lack of societal impacts. Later measures and their necessity are still being debated.

No interview was conducted for Subject-57.

Subject-134 - 15/7/06

Subject Name: Joseph Costa

Reputation: Foundation Level 2 Researcher. Primarily dealing with SCP-████, SCP-████ and SCP-████, all of which have noticeable links to Sarkic rituals.

Foundation Response: Subject immediately apprehended and new Researchers assigned to the aforementioned SCPs. Subject questioned to ascertain their origins. Due to excessive use of force, Subject has been rendered currently unresponsive. Subject is currently in care of Foundation medical teams.

Subject-134 Interview - 15/7/06

Interviewer: Agent Fraser

Subject-134: Well, shoot.

Agent Fraser: First things first, why are you here?

Subject-134: You house ancient, holy knowledge behind locks and weapons, and think that'll deter us? How can those who cage the truths of this world be so foolish?

Agent Fraser: So, your intentions are to release Sarkic anomalies. Do you have any accomplices, besides the ones we've already apprehended?

Subject-134: You think I'd ever reveal that? Once again, you prove your foolishness.

Agent Fraser: As expected. Next, what sorts of behaviours do your allies exhibit on a daily basis?

Subject-134: You can't fake belief. Idiocy, foolishness and overconfidence, sure, but not true belief.

Agent Fraser: That remains to be seen. Now, what are your ultimate intentions behind releasing these anomalies?

Subject-134: Put them to good use, unlock the secrets you jailers keep. All will be available to us, eventually. It's inevitable. The store is simply a catalyst for hastening destiny.

Subject Name: Matthew Newham

Reputation: Director of Site-98⁴, one of many leading Foundation experts in bio-mechanical and film-based anomalies.

Foundation Response: Subject apprehended and questioned on relation to growing frequency and severity of containment breaches in Site-98. Approximately fifty-four (54) hours into questioning, the Subject's escape had been reported. Foundation personnel are currently tracking Subject-257. A log was recorded before this occurred.

Subject-257 Interview - 03/08/06

Interviewer: Agent Fraser.

Subject-257: Matthew Newham. Why would I change it if no-one remembered the old me?

Agent Fraser: Noted. What relation do you have to the recent rise in attempted containment breaches?

Subject-257: Ah, my liberation projects? Of course! Tell me, agent, why do you insist on keeping masterpieces locked behind walls of steel? They should be out in the world! Enjoyed by the masses!

Agent Fraser: Many of those anomalies you attempted to release would have significantly culled those masses.

Subject-257: But it would've been one hell of a way to go!

Agent Fraser: (under his breath) Crazy █████. Right. Next, what is your background, Mr. Newham?

Subject-257: I see the way you look at me. Like I'm the crazy one, when you suck everything unique out of this world! They're here to be enjoyed, much like everything else! Artworks to be appreciated!

Agent Fraser: What is your background, Mr. Newham?

Subject-257: You've probably already guessed, but I'm affiliated with the anartists. Well, was. They thought my opinions were too "zealous", if you can believe that! Ironic, anartists kicking out an anarchist with taste. Shame. I had some good fun with them, too.

Agent Fraser: What groups are you currently affiliated with?

Subject-257: My goals align with the Hand, but I wouldn't call them allies.

Agent Fraser: Do you think they will attempt to release you from captivity?

Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XYXY are to be deactivated kept in a standard low-priority containment facility, unless being tested or personnel are given orders to the contrary. All instances of SCP-XYXY-A are to be kept in a standard low-priority industrial equipment storage, and may be used for industrial services or tasks with express permission from a Level-2 Researcher or above. Facility Construction team supervisors may also permit instances of SCP-XYXY-A instances under careful supervision.

Description: SCP-XYXY-1-12 are industrial-sized diesel generators. Their exact model is expected to be unique. Testing has shown that they are capable of generating power at a standard expected of their type. However, usage has been forbidden due to the nature of its anomalous effects. When activated, every instance of SCP-XYXY⁶ possesses the anomalous property of slowly converting biological life into forms resembling machines commonly used in construction and other industrial purposes.

Addendum XYXY.1 (Recovery):

All SCP-XYXY instances were found and procured from Wilton's Automobile Assembly, a car manufacturing factory in ██████, Wisconsin. The Foundation's attention was brought to the factory when reports of "guttural screaming" originating from the cars were filed from multiple car maintenance businesses within Wisconsin. After low-priority investigations were conducted on an instance of SCP-XYXY-A procured from one of these businesses, Researchers found that they contained traces of human traits. These traits included vocalising in English via use of the instance's radio, the headlights serving as optical appendages and the engine serving a similar purpose to a human stomach.

Further analysis of these instances concluded that they all originated from one business, namely Wilton's Automobile Assembly. Under the guise of a OSHA Inspection, Foundation Agents searched the facility thoroughly while others kept the management staff otherwise occupied. During the search, Agents unearthed a concealed section of the facility connected to the assembly lines. It was within this section that every instance of SCP-XYXY was recovered. Each were kept within a small padded room likely serving as a containment cell, along with several SCP-XYXY-A instances in various stages of progression.

Upon discovery, Wilton's Automobile Assembly was evacuated and the management placed under Foundation custody, at which point they were promptly interrogated. Interrogation revealed that the SCP-XYXY instances were sold to the company by the Group of Interest known as Marshall, Carter & Dark.
