Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-|||| is to be kept in a level-2 item storage locker in Site-14. Any experimentation must be approved and supervised by Dr. Nizel. See Test Log ||||-07. Any late-term SCP-||||-1 instances that pose a threat to Foundation Personnel or containment are to be terminated.

Description:
SCP-|||| is a 3x8 foot long black, woven blanked, composed of threaded cotton. While not being used, SCP-|||| has no anomalous effects. SCP-|||| will only enter an active state once laid over a live human. When SCP-|||| becomes active, the person it is laid over will immediately fall into REM sleep, and the subject will hereafter be referred to as SCP-||||-1. After approximately 12 hours since activation, the subject will wake and report feeling well rested. Approximately 6 hours after SCP-||||-1 wakes, they will begin to request to utilize SCP-|||| once more. After another approximate 6 hours, SCP-||||-1’s requests may turn to frantic pleas for the object. After approximately 6 additional hours, SCP-||||-1 will succumb to total brain failure. The cause of this is currently unknown. If SCP-||||-1 is allowed to use SCP-|||| again, the cycle will repeat.

Other: Once asleep for 2 hours, SCP-|||| was removed from the subject.
Result: Immediately after SCP-|||| being removed, SCP-||||-1 awoke and began screaming incoherently and attacking foundation personnel. Subject terminated by security personnel.
Notes: Due to the possible risk of damage to other SCP objects, cross-testing is not recommended. Due to this obstacle, further research cannot continue, and experimentation is to be discontinued.

Addendum – Discovery:

SCP-|||| was found in the home of [REDACTED] (Deceased) in [REDACTED], Kansas. After being found, SCP-|||| was donated to a local homeless shelter, where police reports were filed regarding “16 mentally insane individuals,” all of which afterward succumbed to the effects of SCP-||||. The Centers for Disease and Control concluded that the fatalities were not result of an illness, at which point the Foundation took head of the investigation, and confiscated the object.
