SCP-XXXX-1█
Item #: SCP-XXXX [Young of Bahamut]
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Individual instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained in 1 m x 1 m x 1 m metal tanks filled with saltwater at Site-57. Each contained instance of SCP-XXXX is to be allowed to enter its SCP-XXXX-1 form at least once per year. Whether for use of testing or for fulfilling the requirements stated formerly, Lake Kuyuta, an artificial salt lake located near Site-57, is to be used when handling SCP-XXXX instances in their SCP-XXXX-1 forms.
MTF Gamma-6 ("Deep Feeders") is tasked with monthly searches of the Pacific Ocean for additional instances of SCP-XXXX. Any anomalous land forms found in the Pacific Ocean should be kept on watch for at least four hours in order to confirm whether it is an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
Neither aquatic vehicles nor aircrafts not used by Foundation personnel should be allowed within viewing distance of SCP-XXXX-2 instances.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to multiple instances of an anomalous variant of Oncorhynchus mykiss (Rainbow Trout). SCP-XXXX instances have a significantly longer average lifespan, ranging from 30 years to up to 115 years. SCP-XXXX behavior in this form is largely standard for most rainbow trout, though they seem to spend much more of their lifetime in the Pacific Ocean which they are native to, only returning to the freshwater tributaries they were born at to spawn once they have reached adulthood. The majority of spawn laid by SCP-XXXX instances are non-anomalous, though occasionally one of the alevins will be another SCP-XXXX instance. SCP-XXXX instances also leave a small trail of non-anomalous soil whenever swimming in saltwater.
SCP-XXXX's other anomalous effects manifest approximately every 50 hours. At this time, the SCP-XXXX instance will suddenly transform into a large, tectonic island, collectively referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 instances. SCP-XXXX-1 are largely indistinguishable in composition from naturally-formed tectonic islands, save for sparse traces of Rainbow Trout DNA found in their soil, and various anomalous effects unique to each instance.
An SCP-XXXX instance will only enter its SCP-XXXX-1 state if it is currently in a body of saltwater which would be able to contain the mass of its SCP-XXXX-1 state. An SCP-XXXX instance will remain in its SCP-XXXX-1 state for at least four hours, to an upwards of 24 hours, if left undisturbed. However, it may remain in its SCP-XXXX-1 state for upwards of 3 years if a Homo sapien not originating from the SCP-XXXX-1 instance enters and remains on it.
If an SCP-XXXX instance is unable to enter its SCP-XXXX-1 for approximately one year, then it will expire. Analysis suggests that the instances died via suffocation due to a lack of water, despite the instances being in water when they die. SCP-XXXX instances become non-anomalous after expiration. However, expirations of SCP-XXXX instances have coincided with the discoveries of anomalous land-masses in the Pacific Ocean, all of which resemble the SCP-XXXX-1 instances corresponding with the expired SCP-XXXX instance. These landmasses (designated SCP-XXXX-2) have no traces of Rainbow Trout DNA in their soil, and never revert to SCP-XXXX instances. There are currently 2 known SCP-XXXX-2 instances contained by the Foundation.
Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery
The first SCP-XXXX (and SCP-XXXX-1) instance was discovered on ██-██-199█, when local rumors of an "island of fish devils" located within the Pacific Ocean surfaced in the Island of ████
