SCP-TBD
The Purple Rabbit
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-TBD is currently in the care of Researcher ██████. Special precautions are as of yet unnecessary, as SCP-TBD has proven to be of no danger.. Daily revaluations are required for both the creature and the caregiver to ensure their wellbeing, mainly the relationship between the two.
Description: Ostensibly, this creature appears externally to be a generic rabbit approx. 30cm in height and 30cm in length. It's only anomalous psychical feature is its vibrant purple fur, dotted with black spots and nebula-like cloud shapes, making it's hide resemble a starscape. The rabbit does not appear it needs food or water to survive, although it will eat enthusiastically. The rabbit also slows down and sleeps when not fed, although no matter how long it is starved, it never dies or changes body shape.
When "adopted" by a person, SCP-TBD forms a deep emotional and psychic bond with its new "owner." If left alone for more than a day after bonding, the owner will begin hearing a high pitched noise, similar to a real rabbit's death rattle, but at a much higher decibel level and pitch. The noise will not end until the owner returns to the rabbit, or dies. It is not known how SCP-TBD is able to communicate with the caregiver. It is now known that SCP-TBD can communicate with the caregiver and able to read their thoughts. Furthermore, it can initiate a conversation, though the caregiver cannot speak about the contents of them. See Addendum SCP-TBD-C
When the owner pets, cleans, feeds, and generally cares for SCP-TBD, they receive a powerful psychic signal that promotes dopamine and serotonin secretion, appetite regularization, and even advanced neural regeneration that, as shown in long term tests, has been seen to cure minor brain abnormalities through a kind of hyper brain plasticity. Furthermore, other animals, particularly mother's, have been shown to be more trusting of bonded persons. However, bonded persons currently distressing SCP-TBD will be feared by or outright aggressed by other animals. It is yet to be tested if this could affect social situations with humans.
