SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is kept in a secure lock box in site 20 and can only be removed for testing by researchers of level 3 clearance or higher. SCP-XXXX is not to be held without special equipment by any research personnel or d-class due to the risk of damage to personnel and equipment surrounding them. Any transfer of the object, testing or otherwise, is to be done with thick heat resistant gloves and held on the top of the object as to not trigger the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX.

Description:

SCP-XXXX resembles a standard hand boiler from ██████ toys. Object is about 17 cm in height and weighs around 107 grams. The fluid inside SCP-XXXX has not yet been identified due to the object being impervious to damage. SCP-XXXX was found in ███, Iowa in the house of a now deceased chemistry teacher. It is unknown where the object came from originally.

The objects first anomalous property activates upon a humanoid subject touching either the bottom of the object. This property causes the temperature in a radius of 10 feet to raise slowly within the range of 1-2°C every 30 seconds. The liquid inside the object rises exponentially slower than standard hand boilers.

The secondary property of SCP-XXXX is activated when the temperature has risen more than 10°C at which point the subject is fixed on the object and will refuse to let go making remarks about how interesting the object is. This fixation will continue until either the object is removed from the subjects hands or the subject dies from heat stroke.

Some researchers have speculated that if the liquid inside SCP-XXXX is to reach the top the temperature would be hot enough to cause an explosion that could destroy anything within 50 ft of the object. Due to this risk factor any tests involving SCP-XXXX are to be strictly monitored.
