Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is not currently contained. At the moment, efforts to bring the object into containment are being carried out. Once successful, it is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment cell with modifications to accommodate its disability. Food is not necessary for its survival, but can be provided as a reward for cooperation. Subject is to be provided with fresh bandaging once each day, which it can change on its own. All personnel should be trained in resisting memetic effects.

SCP-XXXX is contained in a standard humanoid containment cell with modifications to accommodate its disability. It is permitted entertainment in the form of audiobooks and music at the head researcher’s discretion. It is to be fed once a day, and personnel are to change the bandages over its wounds at this time. If it has shown good behavior, personnel with training in resisting memetic hazards are approved to socialize with SCP-XXXX during the process of changing the bandages.

Once a week, SCP-XXXX is permitted to see Dr. Sheperd for therapy. Access to recordings of these visits is limited, in order to respect SCP-XXXX's privacy.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous humanoid, seemingly in its late teens, although since it does not physically age, it is likely older. Due to an injury, it is effectively blind in both eyes. For a full report on SCP-XXXX’s appearance, see Recovery Log XXXX.

SCP-XXXX’s main anomaly is its body’s extreme homeostasis. This means, among other things, that it does not age, its hair does not grow, and wounds do not heal. New wounds cannot be made, but it is not invulnerable. If the object is stabbed, for instance, the wound will simply heal the instant the weapon is removed. This has made surgical examination difficult, but it is theoretically possible.

Secondarily, it possesses a slight mental effect capable of convincing those interacting with it that it is dead. They do not perceive the subject as a corpse, rather, they treat it similarly to a ghost. Once the person is no longer in SCP-XXXX's presence, the effect wears off.

Subject is known to be unstable and violent. Prior to initial containment, it is believed to have committed upwards of █ murders in the Midwest United States, using its secondary anomaly to get away with it each time. Since its escape, however, no deaths matching SCP-XXXX’s typical style of attack have been observed.

Admendum

Background: In 2017, local law enforcement theorized a link between several similar murders in the midwestern United States. Each case involved the death of individuals who were the primary caregivers to one or more children, and no strong leads could be found. Witnesses in each case reported paranormal activity in the weeks leading up to the murder, and in several cases, evidence pointing to child abuse was discovered. Foundation plants alerted their superiors to the possibility of an anomaly, and in early 2018, SCP-XXXX was discovered and subsequently captured. The majority of this document was written prior to the subject’s designation as SCP-XXXX.

Attending Physician: Dr. D. Ross
Report: Subject was uncooperative throughout the entire process, but was subdued by the threat of physical restraint. Height was measured as 1.77 meters and weight as 56 kg. Subject is underweight, although not alarmingly so. Hair seems healthy, although it was recently bleached and then inexpertly shaved to the scalp.

Initial observations found lacerations on both eyes, although far more severe on the right side. It seems as if they were caused by blunt force and a knife. Observation was difficult due to the constant bleeding of the wounds and the subject’s extreme reluctance to allow the area to be examined. Subject appears to retain some, if incredibly limited, sight. If bleeding could be subdued, the subject would likely recover sight in the range of 20/170 in the left eye.

Heavy bruising was observed on the subject’s wrists, ankles, and waist, consistent with ropes marks and handprints. As with previous injuries, these appeared recent. In places, it appears that fingernails were driven into the skin. Minor bruising and lacerations were visible across the entire body, but mostly present on the face and chest. Several cuts were also observed on the left thigh, although these seemed far older than the others.

Researcher YYY: Is that why you killed those people? They deserved it?

Addendum 3

Summary:

At 17:32 on 04-04-20██, a security guard noticed the door to SCP-XXXX’s cell was slightly ajar and called for backup. Investigation found the object to be missing, as well as one of the researchers assigned to it, Dr. Jeremy Sheperd, who had been acting as a psychologist and therapist to the subject. Security footage showed the doctor unlocking the object’s door at 15:01, and leading SCP-XXXX out of the building through a side exit.

Following a search through Dr. Sheperd’s personal effects, evidence was found linking him to The Serpent's Hand. It is believed he defected not long after recruitment and remained in place until he could locate a humanoid object it would be both ethical and feasible to free.

Also found within Sheperd’s belongings was his personal computer. The hard drive had been wiped clean, but agents were able to recover some relevant files. Of note is a personal journal regarding the doctor’s interactions with SCP-XXXX. On the computer’s exterior was a sticky note. (See Addendum 4)

As of the writing of this document, SCP-XXXX has been missing for three months with no leads. Sheperd could have any number of connections within The Serpent's Hand which he is drawing on to remain hidden. MTFnamehere has been assigned to locate the object.

Addendum 4

Attending Psychologist: Dr. Sheperd
Date: 12-11-2017
Report: Subject was initially reluctant to speak, but over the course of our interaction, they opened up. Genetic testing has revealed a match for ██████ █████, a teenage boy who disappeared in 2007 following the murder of his parents, but the subject introduced themself by the name “Bug” and reacted negatively to being referred to as male. Henceforth, I recommend personnel address them by this name and avoid male pronouns.

Regarding the beginning of their anomalies, the subject said they began in 2007 following some sort of attack. When asked if this was the attack that killed their parents, they laughed and declined to comment further.

Although I am tentative to diagnose after a single session, I believe the subject is exhibiting signs of PTSD and potential BPD. They behave aggressively towards personnel and seem largely motivated by a desire for revenge against the individuals responsible for their anomalies.

Upon being asked about the murders, the subject became unwilling to speak. Eventually, they told me they “don’t think [they’ve] done anything wrong.” I am unsure whether they mean they did not commit the murders or they believe the murders were justified.

Personal notes:

12-21-2018- I think Bug is the biggest challenge of my career. I would bet my left hand that their anomalies are directly tied to whatever trauma they won’t talk about. YYY thinks it’s a dumb theory, but I have to see. It can’t hurt.

1-05-2018- Bug is still non-cooperative. I decided to discuss their past in hopes of distracting them from containment. Although at a few points they seemed uncomfortable with the discussion at hand, they told me a lovely story about a classmate they knew named Kit.
