Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: As of 08/19/20██, SCP-XXXX is stored at Washington Confederate Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD. It is to be kept within the coffin of Jake ████████. All surveillance of SCP-XXXX is to be halted since its reclassification as Neutralized.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an Enfield Pattern 1853 rifle-musket, with signs of use and wear but otherwise has the appearance of a normal rifle of this type. SCP-XXXX has three distinct stages, the first of which being SCP-XXXX-01, its default stage. While in SCP-XXXX-01, SCP-XXXX is unable to fire Minié Ball bullets, and cannot be repaired in this stage, rendering it unusable. SCP-XXXX-01 usually lasts around a week before SCP-XXXX-02 starts, SCP-XXXX’s second stage.

At the beginning of SCP-XXXX-02, the voice of a young adult male, suspected to be around 25 years of age, screaming will start to sound from SCP-XXXX’s barrel. Ranging from 5 minutes to an hour, the screaming will continue on, slowly getting louder with no need for the voice to catch its breath. Eventually, after SCP-XXXX-02, begins SCP-XXXX-03, the final stage of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-03 begins when SCP-XXXX starts to fire Minié Ball bullets from its barrel. SCP-XXXX fires its bullets in a rapid-fire fashion, although the time between each shot varies. The Minié Ball bullets and powder SCP-XXXX uses during SCP-XXXX-03 are created from within SCP-XXXX itself during SCP-XXXX-03, which is confirmed by the fact that during SCP-XXXX-01 and SCP-XXXX-02 the barrel is empty. After SCP-XXXX-03 is over, SCP-XXXX-01 begins again, restarting the cycle.

Every instance of SCP-XXXX-03 can be translated into a message through Morse Code, with the duration between each shot equalling the dots and dashes used in Morse Code. These messages have been documented since its discovery on 04/20/20██.

Addendum XXXX-A: SCP-XXXX was discovered by Foundation Personnel in the Museum of Southern History in ████████, SC. The Foundation was alarmed when reports of an antique rifle screaming and shooting people from within its display was sent to local law enforcement. Upon arrival to the museum, 1 person had been shot, and the rest of those who were at the museum were sent to stay in one of the other rooms, where they were all administered Class-A amnestics. A cover up story was produced that the one victim of the incident had suffered a heart attack, and a replica of SCP-XXXX was put in place of the real SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX-C: On 07/18/20██, during testing with SCP-XXXX during SCP-XXXX-02, it was discovered that, through pulling back the trigger of SCP-XXXX in Morse Code, researchers would get a direct message back during SCP-XXXX-03. This could be repeated for several subsequent messages, culminating in an interview with SCP-XXXX.
