Description: SCP-XXXX is a white, electronic hearing aid of unknown make and origin. A golden symbolized image of an owl is engraved into the white plastic shell. It is powered by a single standard size 13 hearing aid battery and possesses a small plastic switch for activation.
When inserted into a human subjects left ear and activated, subjects immediately report a highly heightened sense of selective hearing to the point of beeing able to focus on and understand conversations at the opposite end of a large crowded room. This experience is described as highly fascinating and subjects expressed an euphoric ethusiasm to continue testing the boundaries of SCP-XXXXs capabilities.
After prolonged testing of more than one hour, subjects start to show a growing unwillingness to deactivate SCP-XXXX or remove it from their ear. When forced to remove SCP-XXXX, the observed reactions range from mild sadness and unrest over panic attacks to a state of uncontrolled rage, with reactions growing more extreme with longer times of exposure.
