SCP-4026

An image of SCP-4026, taken shortly after it's apprehension.

Item #: SCP-4026

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Cannot be effectively contained for long periods. SCP-4026 cannot be destroyed by any known means. If left in it's leather case, it will usually remain there for 2.28 months. Sometimes it may remain for longer or shorter amounts of time. It will then shift to another location somewhere within a 50 meter radius. It is especially likely to appear in fire, when one is within it's range. It will occasionally appear on an individuals face. It is being kept in [DATA EXPUNGED], where one individual will be selected to undergo wearing SCP-4026. This will reset the time before it teleports away again.

Description: A pair of wire frame spectacles, dated approximately from 1935. European in origin, possibly ██████, ██████, or ██████. The frame and lenses are perfectly intact and scratch free, despite the age. They were found in the █████████ Concentration Camp in ██████ by a ██████ citizen during a guided tour in 19██. They are assumed to be the possession of a victim of the Holocaust, most likely a ██████ male.

When SCP-4026 is worn by a human, one of three things may happen. The first possible occurrence is that nothing will happen.

The second possible occurrence is that the individual will undergo a temporary state of paralysis. The individual will leave the paralytic state exactly 6 hours after they put on the glasses. Once the paralytic state ends, the glasses will vanish from the individual, and will reappear somewhere within a 50 meter vicinity, usually in a plain leather case. During the paralytic state, the individual will, within their own mind, be transported to Europe, in the late 1930s through the early 1940s. They will invariably experience the life of a victim of the holocaust. They also invariably die within the hallucination. Occasionally, they will die in real life, but it is very uncommon.

The third possible occurrence is that the subject will either spontaneously combust, suffocate, or otherwise be killed in an extremely graphic and painful way. This is the most rare. Only three cases have been thusfar observed.

Addendum 1: The glasses have been found to rarely effect those of ██████ heritage. It will effect individuals with [DATA EXPUNGED] 100% of the time.
