SCP-XXXX (need to come up with a name; should mesh with longer SCP, "An Awkward Gift")
1981. Found during MRI after patient diagnosed with late-stage brain cancer reports all symptoms have cleared. Brain stem severed with 1mm object, perfectly shaped to fit. Brain replaced with what will end up being hardware to control and disrupt quantum vibrations (research what year this could plausibly be understood). MD finds no trace of biology within structure that replaces brain.
Standard SCP intervention / amnesiacs to MD.
Interviews are performed, nothing out of the ordinary detected, other than subject seems oddly upbeat given the situation. (Write some interview content). Psych workup shows no trace of previously diagnosed mental health conditions. Physical workups show significant improvements in muscle mass, at a rate that would be unusual without some form of steroids. Subject denies using steroids.
The 1mm object contains metal, germanium, and some other trace elements in complex pattern and emits a barely detectable amount of heat. (Name of test) shows that the anomalous object appears to be communicating with the brainstem as a new brain.
SCP researchers open skull and find, in English, clear, backlit compartments marked "X Chromosome Stabilizer", "Y Chromosome Stabilizer", and "Microtubule Stabilizer". Microscopy reveals that the compartments do seem to contain what they list, and yearly checks confirm that each item seems to stay exactly the same over time.
While continuing to investigate the quantum vibration angle, a tenth of a gram of antimatter is detected, enough for a 2 kiloton explosion. SCP is moved to a secure, remotely monitored underground containment facility. Priority is increased as quantity of antimatter indicates with near certainty an alien or anomalous origin.
Several days into the containment, SCP enters what a layman would call a comatose state, although no change can be detected in the body or foreign objects. In 1984 patient is diagnosed with Gay-related immune deficiency. Partner tracing shows this was likely contracted from one of several men who also have the disease. Foundation utilizes early access to various non-anomalous treatment to extend lifespan for the purpose of extending live subject research time, but the toll the disease took in the early years combined with the comatose state means that, by 2020, the man is nearing death.
On May 2, 2020, the man starts occasionally mouthing words for periods of minutes. The initial words are lost, but a higher-quality video setup starts to record what seem like Tourette's (lip reader's transcript example: "shit. fuck. fuck. you dirty bastard. motherfucker.") Analysis detects no coded messages. Fifteen days later, after a massive endorphin and adrenaline rush, the SCP sits up, tears out the various tubes and catheters with no apparent pain, stands up, says "Well, fuck me that was marvelous. You make it easy to accept death, true or not. Good luck you poor bastards. You're going to need it." And then sits down in a nearby chair and passes away peacefully. A few seconds later, antimatter is no longer detected in the room. There is no explosion. When an autopsy is performed, there is no trace of the metal or the brain-machine. The brain stem is not severed. The only anomaly is that, stitched into the perfectly normal brain tissue in a spiral pattern, is this message: "The one who did this is still a child and needs your help."
