SCP-_
Code name: Borealis
Object class: Euclid
SCP-__ is a geomagnetic anomaly first discovered in /, Canada. SCP- has no predictable pattern and will disrupt any and all electronics present during its anomalous flare ups.
Description: SCP-_ is a geomagnetic anomaly that very closely resembles the Aurora Borealis earning its title. SCP-__ flares are typically green and swirling in pattern. However, the pattern can also be wavy and the color can shift to blue. SCP- has the ability to manipulate electricity. Due to this ability, research teams sent to investigate SCP- lost the ability to communicate outside it’s radius almost immediately. While SCP- is not active, electronics work as long as power can be supplied to them, however, SCP- makes getting power difficult due to is ability to control electricity. Due to this, flashlights are discouraged as SCP- will drain the batteries almost instantly, and candles and oil lanterns are recommended as SCP- cannot absorb this energy. During SCP-’s “flares”, any and all electronics within its radius will spring to life wether they have power or not and batteries of flashlights have been recorded to charge, although, once the flare is over, the batteries will promptly die. These flares tend to occur at nightfall, typically from 11 o’clock to 5 o’clock. SCP- was not reported until it’s “First Flare” as the locals of , /// called it. After this, the flares began increasing in intensity and occurrence.
Special Containment Procedures:
As of now, any and all attempts to contain SCP- have failed as it has no known source and is more of a storm than an object. As stated, SCP- can disable any electronic and then re-enable it once it flares. Due to this behavior, SCP- is difficult to study and document. Because of this, little is known, but it is still classified “Euclid” seeing as how it is documented as a geomagnetic storm and the cause of the anomalies are believed to be a type of solar flare. However, this is not confirmed, and more research is underway
