Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in soundproofed Safe-class Storage Locker B82 which is to undergo bi-weekly maintenance to replace any damaged soundproofing material. All imagery and video of SCP-XXXX is to be destroyed upon recovery. The written approval of three 05 council members and the presence of an 04 or higher is required for experimentation with SCP-XXXX. Any unauthorised personnel seen in possession of SCP-XXXX are to be apprehended immediately and administered class C amnesics after interview. As testing with SCP-XXXX is currently infrequent, outside of inspection, the storage locker of SCP-XXXX is to be magnetically sealed.
No information about the nature of SCP-XXXX is to be made available to those not working on its containment or reaserch teams. The following is a list of known facts relating to SCP-XXXX, they should only be vocalised in a state of emergency:

• Locker B82 does not exist
• SCP-XXXX has access to the complete foundation database
• SCP-XXXX is alive
• Upon usage SCP-XXXX will certainly alter reality.

Description:SCP-XXXX is a Mattel brand 8-Ball with no visual deviations from the typical product apart from the decal that would usually display an '8' now displays a '1'. SCP-XXXX possesses reality altering capabilities that could cause an end of reality scenario. Upon observing an image of SCP-XXXX there is an average probability of 78.5%¹ that the subject will immediately be trans-located to within a 300m radius of SCP-XXXX, however a few subjects seem to be resistant to the effect as some averages are conflicting with others, some being as low as 35%. More research on this phenomenon is pending.Testing has shown that distance from SCP-XXXX has no effect upon this ability. Upon contact with living human tissue SCP-XXXX will emit a low amount of thermal radiation and the icosahedron visible through the viewer will rotate to a side that reads “Ask?” in the primary language of the subject.² When used in the intended manner for non-anomalous objects such as SCP-XXXX, the icosahedron will always sometimes (See experiment log XXXX-1^a) rotate to a side that says “YES” in the holder's primary language. After an undefined period the timeline is entirely collapsed through [REDACTED] means and one in which answer to the question is 'Yes' begins at the point of the universe's creation.

On current record, one question has been asked of SCP-XXXX. Questions asked to SCP-XXXX alter the timeline in such a way to prevent their own inception. This prevents the repeated termination of the timeline. SCP-XXXX has currently only been traced back to the 19th Century. It is believed to have been created in a universe with different physical laws to our own explaining its anomalous properties. The testing logs provided by SCP-XXXX can be viewed in Question Log-XXXX-Q1 through Question Log-XXXX-Q7.

SCP-XXXX was discovered in foundation custody on 27/12/196█ alongside a binder of documentation of its properties and containment procedures³.

Currently, Doctor ███████ works with SCP- [████] so it is unknown why it would be him who would be in possession of SCP-XXXX. When the note was dated he would be at the age of ███ which appears implausible. At the current moment in time he has not been informed of the note.

Answer: Yes
Results: Slight changes in the properties of photons and their interaction with the molecules in the atmosphere alongside an alteration in the process of refraction caused the sky to change from purple to blue. This also had the unintended side effect of creating more distinct periods of day and night.

Notes [Added by foundation researchers]: Interesting, SCP-XXXX refers to us as “you” suggesting some kind of sentience. It is unknown if this is SCP-XXXX talking or merely it's attempt at replication of other SCP addendums. Also, it is refereed to as the two ball. I hypothesise that the ball has eight uses and the number decreases with each question.

After the approval of an application for testing of SCP-XXXX 04-███████ was instructed to retrieve SCP-XXXX from its containment. After not returning for fifteen minutes the instruction was given to immediately put Site-██ into lock-down. Three guards were sent to the storage of SCP-XXXX to find that both it and 04-███████ were missing. Later analysis showed that 04-███████ never made it to SCP-XXXX's containment as he vanished passing through the camera blind-spot in hallway-██. As SCP-XXXX is contained within a box security footage cannot distinguish at what point SCP-XXXX disappeared. It is currently top priority to locate and re-contain SCP-XXXX.

"How the hell did this happen! You put the universe altering object in an opaque box where no line of site can be made with it and then it goes missing. I understand its effect upon viewing but now we have no pictures or video of the thing. Even if we had one video, one frame, of this thing we could send someone after it. Once this thing is found I might use it to create a universe where foundation staff are not such imbeciles.

After further investigation a lapse in security footage was found from 23:56.5 to 00:01.5, three days before the incident. All personnel absent on security footage at this time are to be questioned. The investigation is ongoing.

I don't know what to think anymore. Deep down we fear the ball because of what we've been told what it can do. No witnesses. No tangible proof. Nothing. The true anomaly is why we believed it so quickly and why no one has yet to ask questions. Blind faith. This goes deeper. But to get it wrong would cost us the universe. No one should have a power like this. Imagine every anger, every fear. Humans are unpredictable creatures, but there are some powers that would change reality with this. Are we willing to take a chance. Maybe. But not yet. I don't know if I truly believe this, if I'm wholly convinced. Now I've had time to think, maybe the disappearance was the best thing for all of us. Now we can move on.
