Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard 1x1 meter plant/fungus terrarium contained within a 2x2 meter containment chamber. SCP-XXXX's containment chamber is to have at least 3 vents for continuous filtration of the air inside. The entrance to SCP-XXXX's cell is to have an airlock mechanism with a minimum of 3 doors. When entering SCP-XXXX's cell, personell are to wear a specially modified hazmat suit that does not have any metal on it. No Ferromagnetic Metals are to be brought in the containment cell unless approval is granted from at least 2 (two) level 3 or higher researchers, or it is the routine feeding time for SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is to be nourished once a day by 240 mL of Ferromagnetic Metal Shavings being placed inside the terrarium and is to be fed once per day. Under no circumstances is SCP-XXXX to be fed more than 240 mL of Ferromagnetic Metals per 8 hours.
Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties, special equipment is to be used when handling SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a mushroom resembling a purple variation of Russula atropurpurea. SCP-XXXX was recovered near the hiking trail of the ████████ rainforest after multiple reports of hiker's loose metal belongings (including, but not limited to: Cell phones, Watches, Bracelets, Necklaces, and in one instance, several ██████'s) being pulled away from the hiker.
SCP-XXXX seems to be magnetically charged and has a powerful magnetic field, able to pull metals towards it from over 3 (three) meters. SCP-XXXX seems to be impervious to any damage that would be caused to it by the momentum of the object, no matter how massive it is, or how fast it is moving.
If any Ferromagnetic Metals continuously touch SCP-XXXX for longer than 2 minutes, they will begin to rust rapidly and begin to break down (Note: The rusting effect will take place in metals despite any natural resistance or inability to rust.)
After roughly 10 minutes (Although documented speeds have varied between █ seconds and ███ minutes,) SCP-XXXX will appear to absorb the rust into itself and begin to glow slightly (average light emission is ██.█ lux, but has been documented to go as high as ████ lux, and seems to depend on the material consumed.) After several minutes, SCP-XXXX will release several small bursts of spores in the air and will return to an inactive state. These spores, despite resembling regular spores under closer inspection, do not act as normal spores. Upon coming into contact with soil, despite its fertility, will not produce any more instances of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX instead relies on humans for reproduction. When a human inhales any amount of spores (the amount of spores does not seem to affect the speed of change), they will begin to decompose rapidly.
When the human (Who from this point on will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) begins to decompose, their brain activity continues as normal. SCP-XXXX-1 is fully conscious and is aware of its own rapidly deteriorating state. SCP-XXXX-1 will express pain and fear when viewing its decomposition.
After an average time of 14 minutes after inhalation, SCP-XXXX-1's body will begin to sprout with new instances of SCP-XXXX. These instances appear identical to SCP-XXXX and will behave in the same anomalous ways.
