Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a reinforced secure locker, padded to prevent fracturing, and lined with 5mm of lead.1
Level 2 security clearance is required for testing. If testing has been permitted during its 'active period', SCP-XXXX is not to leave a container which meets all of the special conditions of its secure locker. Only Class-D personnel may be used as test subjects.
Description: Discovered by the Foundation after reports of 'strange noises' in ████████, USA, and moved to Site 19 in 1963 for long-term storage. SCP-XXXX is a brass hand mirror of Victorian design, though carbon dating has shown it to have been manufactured in the mid 1930s. Between 00:00 and 01:00, the mirror acts as a gateway to parallel universes; outside of these times, SCP-XXXX displays no anomalous properties.
SCP-XXXX has been recorded to lead to ~9500 separate universes during its ██-year containment, 32 of which have been connected to ours up to 11 times. The environment in these universes is varied, some extreme cases range from inside a nebula, to underwater on an alien planet. However, ~85% of cases take place on an alternate Earth.
After 43 successful explorations had been recorded , Dr. ████ proposed the current timetable for research on SCP-XXXX:
| TIMETABLE XXXX-c | |
| 00:00-00:05 | SCP-XXXX transported to test cell. Class-D transported to cell. SCP-786 transported to cell. |
| 00:05-00:15 | Analysis made through SCP-XXXX of the environment; if harmful (radioactive, toxic, etc.), then protective gear should be supplied to the Class-D. |
| 00:15-00:20 | Class-D shrunk using SCP-786. |
| 00:20-00:55 | Miniature Class-D explores SCP-XXXX and reports the climate through radio. |
| 00:55-01:00 | Class-D returns through SCP-XXXX and |
