SCP-5182

SCP-5182 on a silk table sheet.

Item #: SCP-5182

Object Class: Euclid Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5182 is to be kept inside a 2.5x2.5x2.5 meter chamber, with inside a lithium-infused metallic vault where SCP-5182 is to be kept at all times unless a senior research member or two Class 4 or up scientists give permission to access the vault and SCP-5182. A pair of rubber-handled pliers is to always be available on top of the vault inside SCP-5182's containment chamber.

Any non-research personnel are forbidden to enter SCP-5182's room or open or close the vault inside without one active research scientist on-site, and require two Class 2 or one senior researcher's permission first.

Description: SCP-5182 is a black leather bifold wallet with two pouches, a larger back on and a small front one. Inside SCP-5182's front pouch lay four pennies, two nickels, one dime, and two quarters. The coins are to be designated as SCP-5182-1a, SCP-5182-1b, etc. Although the coins can be freely removed, and apon close inspection are identical to the ordinary US cent, it is forbidden to remove any of SCP-5182-1s from SCP-5182 without permission.

SCP-5182 will terminate or destroy anything that forces the object out of a 4.05m (13.29ft) radius. Both SCP-5182 and any of SCP-5182-1s will naturally retract to the 4.05m radius if a physical force pushes it outside of the radius, even if physically impossible (see Addendum 5182-02). SCP-5182 appears to be able to break most objects on the spot, with a few notable exceptions (see Addendum 5182-012 and Addendum 5182-013).

SCP-5182 was first discovered by Agent Atticus after the Berlin Federal Police (Bundespolizei Berlin) was reported two dead bodies in an apartment in downtown Berlin. Although nothing immediate was out of the ordinary, Atticus immediately went to the site once the two police sent to investigate never came back. Apon the SCP Foundation's request to the Bundespolizei to leave the case and giving Class E amnestics to secretaries who documented the case, an inspection of the site began.

Within days of inspection of a wallet that appears to kill on elongated touch, Delta-5 ended up being called along with senior researcher Dr. [REDACTED] to investigate the properties of the wallet, and SCP-5182 was declared Euclid. After extensive testing and █ D-class deaths, Dr. [REDACTED] was able to figure out and establish a perimeter to where SCP-5182 was able to be safely held. At the exact center of the sphere was discovered to be a nickel that was stuck in the crevice between a fridge and a sink. The nickel was then put back in the wallet, and further testing was commenced.

Dr. [REDACTED], after █ hours of testing and permission from the O5 Council, authorized the eventual taking of SCP-5182 and dismissal of remaining on-site Delta 5 members.

Addendum 5182-a: The █ corpses caused by SCP-5182 were taken to Site-██ along with SCP-5182. Medical analysis and review show that a massive amount of energy seemed to be applied to the brain of all the corpses as a cause of death, not too different than a fatal case of electric shock, with the key difference being the brain appeared to be the only organ attacked. Review of a rudimentary wooden wagon and electric pinchers, both of which were also used to attempt to move SCP-1582 away from cases SCP-1582-1 show that similarly directed spurts of energy caused the object to become inactive or unusable.

Addendum 5182-b: Tests show that SCP-5182 is unharmful and no different than a regular object should all nine SCP-5182-1s stay contained within it. SCP-5182 has been reclassified as "Safe" following the testing.

Addendum 5182-c: It appears that SCP-5182 does not miraculously break any object on its own, but instead miraculously sends a large amount of kinetic energy at a target, causing it to either break, shatter, or overcharge on contact. The way it does this is currently unknown. Testing also concluded that should SCP-5182 be midair when leaving an SCP-5182-1's radius, it will immediately stop all movement.
