Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]

Description: SCP-x bears the physical appearance of a gargoyle, a bat-like creature measuring approximately 4.65 meters in height. Subject was first located in the sewers of ████, France and is believed to originate from the nearby Cathedral ████'██. It is not yet known how SCP-x has obtained sentience, as the Cathedral has been abandoned for ███ years with other similar entities appearing insentient.

SCP-x appears to be completely inanimate until a humanoid subject approaches a six (6) to eight (8) meter vicinity around it, then shredding it's statue-like exterior, revealing a layer of putrid flesh with various gases emitting from it. SCP-x will begin to chase any humanoid nearby, [DATA REDACTED] those whom it has caught (casualties will be numbered and referred to as SCP-x-X). There have been several documented incidents in which SCP-x-X was found alive inside of SCP-x's [DATA REDACTED] with minor injuries, while other documented subjects have sustained lethal injuries and had several bones fractured.
SCP-x is estimated to petrify and enter a docile state once more between three (3) to five (5) hours after the incident.
