Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard containment chamber lined with soundproofing material to prevent the transmission of sound out of the room.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a wooden box with a base of 150 centimeters by 150 centimeters, and a height of 300 centimeters. Positioned on one side of the box is a brown standard interior door with a brass handle.

When a human is within 5 meters of SCP-XXXX, noises begin to emanate from the door. These include what sounds like a human female screaming, pleading to be released, sobbing, and begging for the door to be opened. Banging noises and scratching are common as well, however the banging does not coincide with any movement or vibration of the door itself.

If a subject is to open the door, they will immediately disappear, and the door will slam shut. After this, no more sound will be heard from the object for a period of 70-90 hours. During this time, the door will be locked and cannot be opened.

Feb 3, 20██	Subject D-849201 equipped with transmitting camera, and secured with a rope. Rope tethered to pole 10 meters away from SCP-XXXX.	Subject again vanished with camera upon opening SCP-XXXX, as did 5 meters of rope nearest to the object. Camera ceased to transmit video after vanishing.	SCP-XXXX appears to consume anything within a five meter radius. Further testing required. - Dr. Henway
Feb 9, 20██	Subject D-801937 instructed to attempt to pierce the wooden box of SCP-XXXX using any means available. Subject provided with power drills, axes, a stick of dynamite, and a chainsaw.	Standard tools initially appeared to pierce the object, but after removal revealed that the wood was unmarked. Dynamite left the appearance of a burn on the wood, but was easily wiped off. Subject attempted escape using the tools provided, and was promptly terminated by guards.	I don’t think we can crack it. Also, I probably shouldn’t have given weapons to a convicted criminal. Mar 18, 20██	Mechanical arm used to attempt to open door remotely. All human personnel moved outside of object’s influence radius.	Door would not open even using the arm’s maximum mechanical capability. D-Class subject moved into radius. Arm managed to open door, and subject promptly vanished, leaving the mechanical arm.	Any more references towards SCP-XXXX as being a “magic trash can” will not be tolerated. It only seems to want people, and anything else is just collateral damage. - Dr. Henway
Apr 29, 20██	Researcher V█████ was given permission to bring her three-year-old daughter to work while studying SCP-XXXX, due to the safe nature of the object and distance from any major security concerns. A momentary lapse in Researcher V█████’s supervision allowed her daughter to wander into SCP-XXXX’s containment room.	Researcher V█████ quickly noticed the situation, and went to the containment area, where she noticed that no screaming or banging was observed from the door, and instead gentle cooing, and normal speech from an adult woman was heard. The voice was described as “gentle” and “quiet”, and seemed to be talking to the child in an unknown language. When the child attempted to open the door, the voice laughed and tutted, and the door would not open. When Researcher V█████ entered into the 5 meter circle to retrieve her daughter, the voice went silent. For the next three months, no further noise was heard from SCP-XXXX regardless of the presence of people, and attempts to open the door proved fruitless. After this period, SCP-XXXX returned to normal. Researcher V█████ was appropriately reprimanded and assigned to another project. Her daughter was administered a Class-B amnestic.	We’ve had some fools thinking they can “rescue” the entity inside of SCP-XXXX. To be clear: opening the door to SCP-XXXX will kill you, you can’t break SCP-XXXX, and doing so or attempting to do so without submitting a research proposal will result in immediate reassignment, or even termination. - Dr. Henway
