Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4189 must be contained in a tight sealed 8ft glass container filled with water and a small “island” composed of sand, at the bottom of a 15 ft by 15 ft by 15 ft stainless steel cell. The glass container must have two stainless steel valves to open the glass tank for the purpose of feeding SCP-4189. These valves must also be operable via remote door control systems. This containment cell should also be equipped with a stainless steel table, one remote control robotic arm on the east side of the cell, 3 large Hazmat suits on the north wall, and 3 heavy stun guns, loaded with safeties off.
Description: SCP-4189 was first sighted in [DATA EXPUNGED], Florida, when a small family of 4 called 911 at the date of [DATA EXPUNGED]. The father of the family called in weeping indecipherable words that are cut off short by what we can only assume to be SCP-4189. When the police went to where the call was from, they found signs of struggle and blood splattered in countless places. No bodies were found at the scene. The second instance of SCP-4189 was at the [DATA EXPUNGED] Gasparilla Pirate Festival in [DATA EXPUNGED], Florida. When news hit the foundation that an unknown source was causing thousands of civilians to fall to their knees, screaming and crying, an extraction team of 10 men, dressed in heavy body armor on the inside of a tight sealed hazmat suit, equipped with SABRE Tactical stun guns and long range tranquilizer guns were sent for crowd control and the containment of SCP-4189. Three men died during the containment process of SCP-4189
SCP-4189 is a sentient, humanoid entity of very little strength and unknown gender. SCP-4189 is what appears to be some sort of Lacertilia as its body is covered in armor like scales. Its “armor” is indestructible against any type of sharp object including SCP-4361 and SCP-162. 4189 stands at approximately 6 ft. 2 in. tall and weighs approximately 156 pounds. SCP-4189 also has 2 sets of arms and one set of legs. It walks quadrupedally on one set of arms and its legs. SCP-4189 is incapable of intelligent speech and can only mimic it as to induce its effects. SCP-4189 shows extreme signs of hostility towards any other living, sentient beings. When any living sentient entity approaches an area within 20 feet of SCP-4189, where there is not a solid material of any kind between them, they will first experience massive activity in the Amygdala part of their brain (where emotions are processed). When the subject comes within eyesight of SCP-4189, SCP-4189 will go into a camouflage state invisible to any means of vision accessible to the foundation, including but not limited to Radio Waves, Infrared, UV, Night Vision, SCP-178, and normal eyesight. We at the foundation call this its "preying phase".
The subject will also go into a state of utter despair and depression to the point where they are sobbing uncontrollably on the floor, if of course they have the ability to sob. Once the subject is vulnerable in this state, known now as SCP-4189-2 as they do not recover from this state, SCP-4189 will reveal itself and then pounce upon SCP-4189-2 and devour them, revealing several rows of unproportionally long, sharp teeth protruding from its mouth. Once SCP-4189 finishes this process it lies down in a now dormant state. SCP-4189 finds SCP-4189-2 more delectable after it has become SCP-4189-2 for it preys on negative emotions. For this reason SCP-4189 prefers to prey on adolescents. Children are more prone to having weaker emotions that are easier to be tampered with. If in any case SCP-4189-2 is able to escape the final stage of SCP-4189’s “Feeding” process, the subject will eventually sob until they expire from dehydration.
The effects of SCP-4189 are induced via what the foundation believes to be some kind of telekinetic powers. Read MT Examination #001 for more insight. The foundation believes that SCP-4189 triggers memories, of an afflicted subject, that induce fear or sadness. Not only does it trigger these memories, but it triggers them all instantaneously, which can be imagined as incomprehensible to the human mind. This is what puts the subject in their “depressing” state. The foundation has not yet found any way to dampen or subdue SCP-4189’s mental temperament (in exception of tight sealed hazmat suits).
It has not yet been tested what means can be used to harm it, in the exception of almost all sharp objects, for the foundation does not want to harm it but to study its immunities and weaknesses in case of any breach in containment. SCP-4189 is terrified of almost any non-sentient being, to which in close proximity will go into its camouflage state. SCP-4189 will not attack another subject unless they are turned into SCP-4189-2. SCP-4189 has never breached containment, but it could prove a real problem to the foundation if a breach of SCP-4189 were to occur. No other instances of SCP-4189 have ever been recovered by the foundation.
Addendum-001: In the two following examinations we at the foundation will test in countless ways the boundaries of SCP-4189’s “Mental Tampering (MT)” and “Armor Strength (AMS)”. When testing MT’s we will test the radius of its MT as well as how to amplify or dampen it. We will also test what SCP-4189’s MT can affect including a variety of animals, other SCP’s, and animals (or humans) using SCP’s. When testing AMS we will test a large variety of weaponry as well as other SCP’s in attempts to break SCP-4189’s armor.
Addendum-002: When entering SCP-4189’s chamber, personnel must be dressed in a tight sealed hazmat suit as to not be harmed by the effects of SCP-4189 no matter if it is in it’s glass containment or not.
Addendum-003: The effects of SCP-4189’s “Mental Tampering” seem to be not work on a patient if they are wearing SCP-714. The effects of SCP-4189 have tests pending with a subject using 1 SCP-500.
AMS Test #001:
Test Item: SCP-162
Test Log: SCP-162 is introduced to SCP-4189’s cell via controlled mechanical arm.
SCP-4189 is released from it glass container and into its cell.
SCP-4189 appears to examine SCP-162 before grabbing it.
SCP-4189 tosses SCP-162 around with its four arms before losing interest, setting it down, and lying on its back.
1 D-class personnel is introduced into SCP-4189’s chamber, clothed in a tight sealed hazmat suit, to lure SCP-4189 back into its glass container.
SCP-1489 show signs of hostility
4 guards, clothed in tight sealed hazmat suits, enter SCP-4189’s cell to retrieve SCP-162 and the D-class personnel.
